Well I'll be the first to wade in as usual.

Hubby is off work this week and the sun is actually shining at long last so on Sunday we had a bbq at our house. Yesterday we went for a picnic in Windsor Great Park after having a wonderful lie-in. Today we went to Henley on Thames and walked (alot) and went for a pub lunch. I'm off out for dinner tonight with friends. Tomorrow we are going to the south coast.

What has everyone else been up to?

Suzi, are you looking forward to having your Dad stay? What part of Brisbane is he from? I'm originally from Brisbane, but haven't lived there now for about six years. Have you and your husband been for a trip to Australia?

Aussiechic - It will be great for my dad to come over, I've already seen him once this year so this is a real treat. He's lived in Australia for nearly 6 years now (he's still a Brit through and through though). He lives out in the coastal suburbs of Brisbane in a place called Ormiston, have you heard of it? My uncle lives in Cleveland and my aunt lives in Raby Bay.
Me and the hubby have yet to go and visit, its such a long way and so expensive (as I can only travel in the school holidays) and actually he's been back most years since he moved out there.
Are you following The Ashes? We've got them on right now, not sure which way its going to go!!

Off to Chicago on Sunday, need to start thinking about what I'm going to take and make sure everything is clean!!
Yesterday we went down to Dorset for the day. Its a beautiful part of England on the south coast. The weather was superb and we had a very relaxing day sat on the beach.

What a treat Suzi, seeing so much of your Dad. It's great that he is able to come over so much.

Raby Bay, Cleveland and Ormiston are down on the bay. Really nice area to live. I have family still in Brisbane and have relatives that live one suburb over in Alexander Hills. However, don't really know the area all that well. I used to live in the western suburbs of Brisbane, which is on the other side of Brisbane from your Dad.

Australia isn't exactly the cheapest place to visit. Though, with so many relatives in Brisbane, you would have lots of places to stay (if you did come). Having been to the UK a few times, airfares are not cheap going over to you either. I agree it is such a long flight. It's about six/seven hours to Singapore/Hong Kong and then about twelve/thirteen hours from there to London, allowing for timezones. I'm not too bad going over, but coming back I always get jetlag. Oh, well maybe some day you'll visit.

You seem to be having good weather at the moment. I cannot remember whether I have visited Dorset. Do you go through Dorset to go over on the ferry to France? If so I've seen the countryside from a bus. LOL.

Haven't had the cricket on tonight. It's got quite exciting now that it's down to the last test. Glad our guys have come back, so as to put up some competition for the ashes. You are off to Chicago. How exciting. How long are you going for and what places are you visiting?

You probably would've passed through Kent to get the ferry to France. I take it you sailed from Dover or Folkestone?

Not sure whether to be pleased or not with the English 1st innings so far, after the last test it is much better. I have to say it but I really can't stand Ricky Ponting! He is not a nice person. The rest of the Aussie team I have no issues with but he makes my blood boil!!!

We're off to Chicago for a week. We are staying in the city centre and don't really intend to go anywhere outside of it. We usually do 3 week American road trips so it will be nice to stay in one place for a week just chilling out. We will do all the touristy stuff on offer and will probably hire bikes for a day to cycle up the lakeshore path. Have you been to Chicago?
Actually, if anyone out there knows Chicago and has some top tips for our trip we'd be very grateful.

Indeed it was! Shame we lost a few silly wickets before the close of play.

Good to have you back with us Deb. How was Greece?

Right ladies, I'm off to Chicago tomorrow. Enjoy your week and all the new Josh pics that will probably be coming your way whilst I'm gone. I've got wifi on my new phone so I might be checking in during the week if I can.

But before I go, I've just got back from watching Inglourious Basterds. It was a great film if you love Tarantino but not for the squeamish in parts. Diane is very good in her role, although it is quite brief in relation to the length of the film. She seems to have quite small/wide feet! Hoorah, there is a god!!!

Suzi, yes I sailed out of Dover. So, I went through Kent. So, not Dorset then. Oops, wrong part of England. I'll have to look at where Dorset is, to see if I have actually visited that part of England.

Enjoy your holiday in America. I have been to parts of America but not to Chicago. Take lots of photos.

Aargh, Greece. A place I would love to visit. Will have to make plans one of these days. Having a good weekend Wynter, thinking about Greece.

DUDE! Life has been CRAZY! I have a new job (as of almost 6 months ago), and my internet at home has been down for a few months. We've figure out that it's a PC problem, so I've confiscated Callie's laptop today. Actually I'm home sick and thought I'd stop in to say hi to all.
