And for anyone who is relatively new here and never got to know Katie, really, go back to some old discussion threads. She really knew how to deconstruct a scene or an episode or even an entire Josh film! And so succintly, there was nothing left for any of us to say!

And she loved pictorial deconstruction too. She knew how to find the right cap that defined a Pacey/Joey scene, or what Earl was all about from "Lone Star State of Mind". Her favourite Josh movie was "Americano". She found more levels of true humanity in that movie than I think even the director did!

Her passing certainly is leaving a huge hole here. A big loss. *heavy sigh*
I so agree with you Donna. I always enjoyed reading her posts.

I posted the other day on the UK thread that a photo of me (and my sister) had been included on a poster that came free with Jason Mrazs new single. Anyway, my copy hasn't arrived yet but someone over at the Mraz forum scanned it and here's the bit with me on and in fact there are 2 pics of us!!!!! (side by side)
This is doubly good because apparently over 2000 images were submitted and some people weren't included at all!!!! See if you can spot us!!!

I knew you would spot me quickly Janet.

H is sick and its doing my head in. Men and illness don't go hand in hand. He's got what I've had for about a month now but of course his is twenty times worse rendering him incapable of doing anything other than moaning!!! I, of course, carried on going to work and cooking and cleaning and washing!!!!!

Hi everyone.

I was away and had limited access to the board and didn't get a chance to pop over to this thread. I am so deeply sorry to hear about Katie's passing. This is truly a sad, sad, thing.

I'm happy that she had a great family both at home and here online.

She will be missed.

Robin, thank you for coming by and posting. I know how much she cared for this site and for Josh.

If you wanted to post condolences, there is an official guest book for Katie's memory here:
Guest Book - Katherine E. Napolitano

New Katie Nap info

on 12/13/08 the app.com ran a new obit because i wanted to include that kate
loved to write. I will post again when i have time:

KATHERINE E. NAPOLITANO
AGE: 52
WITH FAMILY IN BRADLEY BEACH

Katherine E. Napolitano, 52, of Newfoundland, Pa., died Friday, Dec. 5, in Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, New York City. She was the wife of John A. Napolitano Sr., at home. She was born in Middletown, N.Y., daughter of Katherine Lucey Wyluda, Scranton and the late Robert DeFlice Sr. Katherine was a very active member of the Church of St. Anthony and St. Rita's Parish, serving as Director of Religious Education and taught CCD class at the church for over 20 years. She was a graduate of the Class of 74 of Raritan High School, Hazlet. Katherine was active in many community organizations and was a co-founder of Christmas in The Park, Newfoundland and was honored as Citizen of The Year in 1993. Kate loved the Director of Religious Education and dedicated herself to making each year bigger and better for the parish community. Next to being an owner and the chef at Napolitano's Restaurant, Newfoundland, Pa. and being a loving wife and mother, teaching the CCD confirmation class at St. Anthony's was one of her biggest passions in Kate's life. In between her busy schedule, she recently almost finished a presentation for a TV show she wanted to co-produce because writing has always been another passion of Kate's that she put on the back burner for many years while she raised her family and worked. THe TV show is about a town that was finding a way to have people from all religions work together to enrich the community in such a way that loving thy neighbor was real and not just words in a prayer. In her honor, her family will try to have the TV show completed some how because they knew that Kate always wanted to inspire the world on how everyone should try to live in harmony.
In addition to her husband, John and mother, Katherine, she is survived by two daughters, Pilar, a student at LaSalle University, Philadelphia and Amelia Rose, at home; a son, John A. Jr., Marymount College, New York City; a sister, Robin DeFlice of Bradley Beach; three brothers, Robert DeFlice Jr. of Greentown, Pa., Anthony DeFlice of Sicklerville, and Darrin DeFlice of Frisco, Texas; a half sister, Mary Patricia DeFlice of Scranton, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in the Church of St. Anthony of Padua, Main Street, Newfoundland, Pa. Interment was in Pine Grove Cemetery, South Sterling. Memorial remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society, 100 4th St. Suite 9 & 12, Honesdale, PA 18431, or the Church of St. Anthony, P.O. Box 537, Gouldsboro, PA 18424. Arrangements were by Arthur J. Frey Funeral Home, South Sterling, Pa.

Thank you, Robin, for posting the full obituary. I knew quite a bit about her current life and how active she was in her parish, but after reading this, it was obvious to me how humble Katie also was. I never knew she had been honored as Citizen of the Year.

She was a real go-getter and she tried to not let anything stop her from realizing her dreams. I will miss her. She was terrific!

Thank you also for your e-mail. I'll contact you next week when I have a good chunk of time.

~Donna
