Sorry to disappoint but there was no sign of Walternate or the Fringe team, but there was a café and gift shop on the Island. I noticed a few snow globes for sale but no-one suddenly appeared and broke one.

Some views from the One World Observatory Restaurant - my treat to myself instead of seeing Josh's play.

Wow, that view looks amazing. Did your son have a good time too? Thanks for sharing the pics.

Yeah he loved it. We went to most of the places we missed on the last visit, and of course the One World Observatory wasn't open the last time we went. The restaurant was very expensive but you might as well go the whole hog when there as I probably won't be going there again. We never went to Brooklyn but we were just too tired on the last day so just watched World Cup matches and ate at McDonalds that evening. At $20 for 2 meals and colas I can see why it is so popular. About a third of the cost of meals elsewhere, and of course with about 20 - 30% tips expected eating out was very expensive.

A few more pics from Liberty Island. US attitudes to immigration are a bit different now!
View from Liberty Island towards Manhattan. The guides in The Crown of the Statue Of Liberty. Dave in front of The One World building. |

That's a nice shot of your son at the railing.

David does take a great photo. I, on the other hand look awful in pics - or maybe that's just me!

Is that the Christmas cake that you make that takes like a month to soak in all the booze? It sounds divine if it is. __________________

Yes that's the one but I was a little late making it this year. It still has almost half a bottle of brandy in it though. The ground almond icing even has some brandy in it, and it is basted with a bit of kirsch!

The Christmas cake was a great success, and is almost gone already.
I just noticed on my tumblr account that a lot of my Josh Affair pics have been flagged and hidden as it contains adult content. I may go through the account and delete any sensitive material so if some pics disappear from past posts I apologise. |

Bought a new evening bag to go with the posh frocks for the cruise. It was in a sale at half price so not very expensive at all.
