He should play a villain more often (although Cole come close to being an anti-hero, because he's so flawed.) It expands his acting range. Just being the "good guy" all the time is boring. Many actors say it's more fun to play a villain than a hero.

The only other movies I saw him as a major villain was in Shutter and Cursed..but Cursed was so bad, it doesn't count.

Even in Shutter, he's less bad guy than sad flawed guy. My friend and I had a whole debate about this because she said bad guy and I was thought he would be more active bad guy.

Good point. I guess there were supernatural factors that pushed Ben "over the edge" at the end. I'll say the scene where the two guys were raping the Japanese girl and Ben looking evil taking pictures of it was disturbing.

I totally agree with you here. More villain/anti-hero roles for josh!

I didn't like "Cursed" at all "Shutter" was better to me because it was both horror and a bit thriller. Josh's character, Ben, was an interesting villain. His craziness, in the end, can be seen as punishment for his actions.

As many times as I've seen Shutter, I never perceived that look to be evil. I'm going to have to watch it again, but I always felt at that beginning of the scene he was okay with their man handling, but it turned bad quick and his look was more one of guilt than evil. However, he still did not stop them, so I don't excuse what he did.

I'd be on board for an Anti-Hero role for Josh and I'd even be on board for a villain providing the villain wasn't creepy. I find creepy roles can turn me off of an actor if I'm not already a fan and I would hate for that to happen to Josh.

Josh is kind of an anti-hero in The Affair.

You know Cursed has such great potential and even had a fairly strong cast (exception being Christina Ricci who I felt had horrible acting in it), but somewhere along the line they just couldn't bring it together properly. Sorry Kevin W. but you have definitely done much better than Cursed. However, I thought Josh was great in it.
