Pilot
When a Flight 627 lands with all the passengers and crew dead, FBI Agent Olivia Dunham is called into investigate. A search for someone to help leads her to Dr. Walter Bishop, our generation's Einstein. There's only one catch: He's been institutionalized for the last 20 years, and the only way to question him requires pulling his estranged son, Peter, into help. Under Agent Phillip Broyles, our trio will discover that what happened on that fatal flight is only a small piece of a larger, more shocking truth.

Now it's time for a fresh thread (we went over in the last one, we're a little passionate, no?)!

Bring all topics related to the show here.

I'm glad to hear Peter has some awesome scenes in The Cure. Still need to watch, can't wait

Did anybody else catch the "Not so much, no" line in the preview for the next new episode?

Mandy, I would love to see your list of Fringe's "Homage to Pacey" references you mentioned in the last thread.

As for "The Cure", usually we're treated to a great deal of visual creepiness, but this episode apparently wanted to concentrate on all that is olfactory with all the references to the scents of flowers, et al. I'm just glad we don't have Smell-o-vision, because the "et al." I'm referring to was Walter's "odor" he didn't warn Astrid about!!! I laughed my head off at that scene.

This show is just nuts!

Ah, yes. Must sit down and get them together. As long as my husband doesn't mind. I've been glued to the computer since before my re-design. But, I'll try and get some stuff together.

However, this:

I'm too episodes behind with Fringe but I hope to catch up this weekend.

i just wanted to say that i agree with the people that say that Josh's role might not be on screen always so much but is and likely going to be pivotal in the series.

Personally the interaction between Peter and walter is my favourite part of teh show.

It has taken me awhile to really get into this show, but this weeks epi was really good for me. The trick for me is to record it and skip through the parts I'm too grossed out by. Blood oozing out of eyes and heads exploding on glass were just a little too much for my pre-breakfast stomach.

Thats my problem with the show, I can do creepy and scary but not gory as in slicing and dicing and extracting eyeballs.

Yeah. I like the creepy-cool stuff, but not gore and torture. That's why I stopped watching 24 and had a hard time with the pituitary gland thief in the 2nd episode. Just the very the idea of torture is so disturbing to me. (Not looking forward to Josh being strapped down again, then being jabbed in the heart with adrenaline in the next new epi.)

I'm just biding my time through the gore waiting for the love story to start!

I know, Josh is sure getting tortured in this series!
I think Michelle Williams should guest star on Fringe. Thoughts?

All the promotional trailers for tonights episode (#4) are focussed on Peter. Can't wait, it looks like a good one with hopefully a different plot line!

i thought "The cure" was a vey good episode!

Didn't like the idea of Peter committing with Massive Dynamics tough, i think it could get him into serious trouble.

Any ideas about what they could ask him to do in the future?

Well, it could get Peter into serious trouble with MD, but I'm comforted with the fact that he didn't keep his bargain with Nina a secret from Olivia. That would have put him a little on the outside of honest if he'd kept that from her.

Because Peter has a history as a con artist and gambling/debt problems. Plus in the third episode, he had that incident w/ that guy in the diner. In other words, Peter is a genius, but he's no saint.

Things I learnt from watching episode 4 of Fringe tonight (its repeated on virtually a nightly basis over here).

*Don't watch slightly spooky/creepy shows by yourself late at night!
*You can never tire of seeing Josh in his undies.
*Anna Torv still irritates me.
*Josh looks good even when he has wires shoved up his nose.
*It was refreshing that this weeks episode started to take a different path from the previous 3.
*Its hard waiting a week for the next installment.
