Okay, jade86 was commenting that Josh should be involved in the new Star Wars VII trilogy! I like her idea:

Having said that, i was thinking about Josh as Jacen Solo, the first son of Han Solo and Leia and the nephew of Luke Skywalker. I read he was probably the strongest jedi among the others, even stronger than Anakin Skywalker. He was very important for the battle and the victory against Yuuzhan Vong. In the end, driven by his determination to save the galaxy and people he loved, he joined the dark side and became the new Lord of Siths, Darth Caedus.

I can see Josh playing this character, the good/bad guy. He already played a darker version of Peter. AND...he would play some scenes together with Harrison Ford! It would be awesome!
Now, I read that Harrison Ford is still in talks and has not yet confirmed. But it's a "not yet", so at least it's not a "no". I swear he's going to play that character to his grave. Fine by me!

I also read that the Fringe Complete Series Box Set (yay for box sets!!) is to be released in the UK on May 20th. Haven't heard about a US release yet.

I've actually heard rumblings of John Noble being considered for some bad guy. Can't remember who. He was already a bad guy in Lord of the Rings, tho. I think he'd be better off playing a good guy.

ETA: I'm tired. I just read back this post and I sound like an eight-year-old boy writing a bad essay... Sorry.

You haven't seen Lord of the Rings Trilogy! Sacrilege! I saw it like 100 times. And I have also seen Hobbit 14 times. For now. What can I do, I am an epic fantasy, criminal and sci-fi genre geek.

He was Lord Denethor, the Steward of Gondor. He had two sons, Boromir and Faramir, but he loved Boromir more. When Boromir died in a battle he was so consumed with grief that he didn't even care about his second son who was gravely wounded.
There was a Seer's Stone, Palantir in his castle and he saw the doom of his city in it and went completely crazy... When Gondor was attacked by the forces of evil he decided to burn himself and his wounded son Faramir on a pyre. Luckily, wizard Gandalf ran inside and managed to save Faramir, but Denethor was already burning and he died flinging himself off of the highest tower of Gondor, like a human torch. Pretty batty.

And John Noble admitted he didn't even read the books. Which I also read so many times that I almost know them by heart. Great acting from his part, though.

Sounds like I should rent some of the Lord of the Rings movies. Yes, I am another one who has never seen them.

Thank you, Emma, for that synopsis of Denethor and his sons. That helps a lot.

I tried to watch the 1st LOTR but it was too slow and I fell asleep within the first 20 minutes. Not good. Once we get a new TV, I'll be sure to stay up with the kids and some popcorn and try again. I promise.

OK, this is the last "spamy" post in Fringe discussion And it's about Lord of the Rings, of course.
Donna, you should definitely see this trilogy, if nothing, because of epic dialogues, nice costumes and beautiful landscapes . Let me summarize it for you. Like any Tolkin's book, this one is also about the battle. Good Vs. Evil. It's an epic fantasy genre: that means a) magic, b) mythical *avoids to say weird* races

So bad guys are:
Sauron-Bad Boss who wants to conquer the whole world and rule everyone
Bad wizard Saruman-works for Bad Boss
Orcs-army of twisted ugly creatures-work for Saruman therefore work for Bad Boss
Some humans-Work for Bad Boss

And good guys are:
Elves
Dwarves
Good wizard Gandalf
Hobbits-nice little people who like to drink, eat, and party all night long
Some humans-two kingdoms: Rohan (land of the horses) and Gondor (White City-that's where Denethor (John Noble) is with his sons )

And there is this ring. Bad Boss made the ring of power, a mighty artifact, to rule all races. So good guys teamed up and defeated him many millenia ago. His body is disintegrated, all that remains is one big ugly eye.
But the good guys make a mistake. Instead of destroying the Ring they keep it for themselves. And it corrupts them and their hearts become black... The ring passes on from one person to another.
It's good because: it gives you longevity; it makes you invisible. But it's bad because it corrupts you and makes you evil. It also always wants to return to Bad Boss because he's the one who forged it. He is the true LORD OF THE RING.
So good wizard Gandalf realizes this and he says: I am going to send a mixed group of people, all races included, to take the evil ring to the Mount of Doom (it's a mountain full of lava) and cast it into the chasm. So-destroy it. That's how the Fellowship of the Ring is formed.

So basically all three movies are about a long journey of this group of good guys, traveling to the lava mountain in order to destroy the Bad Ring.

During the movie, there are many battles between good guys and bad guys in all possible combinations from the two groups above:

Saruman-Gandalf
Orcs-Rohan
Orcs-Gondor
Orcs-Elves and Dwarves and Hobbits and Good Humans of Rohan and Gondor
Bad humans-Good humans

And that's 10 hours of your time.

Back to Joshy on Fringe:

September's notebook: http://www.tvguide.com/News/Fringe-S...k-1058715.aspx

Pretty cool.

New trailer for Inescapable and a movie clip:

Inescapable Trailer 2
Inescapable Movie Clip-Connections

It premieres in the US today! And today a trailer for the 3rd season of Game of Thrones is coming out as well!
Maybe some Joshy photos will be posted online soon.

Perhaps you've spared me 10 hours of my time! Not that I wouldn't like the films, they just don't appeal to me yet. Now if Josh were in them, that would be a completely different story!

I don't know that I could really get into the depth of the epic fantasy. I enjoyed the links you posted. I appreciate the love of the genre and the investiture of time that's required to thoroughly enjoy these epics. I might look into them someday!

Glad you appreciated them Donna! Epic fantasy and scifi have got to be my favorite genres. It could not get better than this. I mean, ten hours in ten minutes. Great summary from my part!
I am rewatching Fringe... Currently on S1 episode 18, Midnight... Nicholas Boon... Sigh. The things he did for love. And season 1 Josh is so yummy. Swoon.

When things settle down here soon I hope, I'll start re-watching Fringe. I only have S1 right now. But that's the best place to start, right? I think I'm going to purchase the blu-ray box set. I want as many features and extended extras as possible.

As for the early episodes, I pretty much only watched each ep once, so when I review them, it'll be like watching them anew for the first time. I know I will not have remembered a whole lot. Not like Dawson's Creek, for example.

I don't mind discussing sci-fi and fantasy genres in this thread, as long as we can revert and/or link it back to Fringe, or at least Josh. This is the Fringe discussion thread after all.

Any other topic is totally open for discussion in the Off-Topic (OT) thread, please. Just a gentle reminder.

Here's something that I was curious about. I posted the following pic in the OP mainly because some viewers on other sites were commenting on how cool this reference was. But that was it! No elaboration. I can't really figure out what about this envelope is so significant. The numbers, "Burrows", the zip code... Can anyone enlighten me?

ETA: Oh!! I think I get it now! It's the upper envelope we're supposed to see: "Thank you for your support!" How sweet.
