The sad thing is, if Josh is not returning (or at least as a series regular), that means Mare Winningham, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and the Grella Twins are likely off the show too.

This is starting to remind me of Once Upon a Time, when original cast members Jennifer Morrison, Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas all left the show prior to the final season.

Loved what he said about Cole for season 5. That's the kind of thing I thought they would do with him, before I found out Josh may not be coming back.

I've always sensed that Sarah has never really wanted to tell Cole's story too much, until season 4. I think he got a good storyline because of Alison's death.

I wonder what his wrap up story would be, if he did come back for an episode or two.
