Well, I agree that it's great to get that mention, but I wouldn't say he was "singled out".

Christian Slater
Elijah Wood
Martin Sheen

were all mentioned on the list, too.

I was browsing again, I was just came across this 2007 awards contenders

Bobby is the only outwardly liberal movie on this year’s awards slate, and will probably receive at least a couple of nominations. The cast is terrific, and if there were a Best Ensemble Oscar, they may have won it. Whichever one of Demi Moore or Sharon Stone is nominated, stands a good chance of winning, while Nick Cannon, Joshua Jackson and Shia LeBoeuf, all of whom are terrific, are probably too green to win the award.

The next big round of nominations are for the Golden Globes. Those will be announced this Thursday (the 14th). I believe Oscar nominations are announced sometime in January.

Although "Bobby", IMHO, was quite uneven and somewhat unpolished, it would not be an unrealistic expectation for Josh to earn a Best Supporting Actor nomination. His role was prominent and his performance really was excellent. Looking forward to tomorrow's GG noms.

Even if Josh doesn't get nominated, the fact that his role is generating lots of good buzz is fine by me. On that note,

I hope JJ gets nominated, but I am not getting my hopes up. I bet one of the older actors will get nominated like Anthony Hopkins or William H. Macy. I hope I am wrong and JJ does get nominated, but the odds are just not good to me. There are so many movies and actors
