"Battle in Seattle" Movie News

An interesting article. "Battle In Seattle" Vancouver Casting Call We are in search of volunteers to be extras in a film based on one of the most incendiary uprisings in a generation. "Battle in Seattle" takes an in depth look at the five days that rocked the world in 1999 as tens of thousands of people took to the streets in protest of the World Trade Organization. This will be a unique opportunity to participate in the production of an extraordinary film. The location will be in the Vancouver area and food will be provided throughout each day. This is a topical & controversial independent feature and our budget is low. We are seeking activists with a passion for taking it to the streets when the cameras are rolling, who are willing to volunteer their time to be part of a film that will tell a story of profound global importance, a story the mass media suppressed and a story that is, in itself, a movement for human rights and environmental justice. * Job location is Vancouver * Compensation: all meals & an unforgettable experience link to article Vancouver Film.Net |

Thanks for starting this thread Kat. :) |
Great opening post, Kat! Thanks!
I've actually sent the casting call info to my brother -- he should be in this movie. |
Thanks for starting the thread! Okay, since I don't like to watch movies wuthout background info first but what is this protest of the World Trade Organization? I also find it weird that Josh's name is on the poster although he hasn't filmed his part yet! ;)

Josh's role in the movie is something I'm still getting details on, but his name will be "Randall".
Thanks to aussiechic for sending me some links, there will be websites that are archiving footage of the daily filming process. There is also an official site that has been opening to get extras, too. Battle in Seattle official site Movieset.com - Video footage and daily accounts of the film Thanks for the thread, kat! :) |
Thank you for the news and the link!
