I can understand Donna's perplexity of the use of this word...
It is her intrinsic nature...to be grammatically correct...

She can teach us all a thing or two about the "English language"

How did I do....Miss Donna....

Well, I think it was just a misunderstanding. It's all good and I think it's time to get back onto the topic at hand.

I was reading the Aurora Borealis site at Yahoo.com and it says its Us box office total is $4,321. Not sure if that's true but that's pretty good considering how many theatres its in. For me, anyway

Well, it's listed as #96 out of 100 and is in four theaters in it's first week. That equates to $1080 per theater.

and that equates to about 100 people per theatre at Approx. $10.00 per head...

that doesn't sound too strong to me...

Mandy...what's your thoughts on these numbers...

At $1,080.00 per theater, and the average theater houses, what, 300 people at about 8 bucks per ticket? That's 135 seats sold. Less than half the theatre. Not bad for an unknown indie, really. (At least it's not the 5 people who were sitting with me in the second week of Cursed!!)

And while I was out looking at houses this afternoon, you were all bandying the pimp factor about. Thanks Bonni and Katie for being as old as I am and completely out of the loop with the lingo. (Hints of librarian Mrs. Tringle...) So, let me get this straight: we're now desensitizing all negative connotations associated with the word "pimp". Gotcha. Thank God I'm on these boards... Just let it be said that I will likely never, ever call Josh a pimp.

Donna...those 135 seats are over a 7 day period....
and in NYC...the tickets are at least $10.50...each

I love your quote... bandying...."the pimp factor"...
there was a pic of Josh in a big pimp hat.... I haven't seen it around in a while...it was hysterical...
where the heck is Sarah...when I need her...she would know where to find it...LOL

If you notice on Yahoo, it notes it's the figures for the weekend of September 15-17th. The figures haven't been updated to reflect what any of the movies have done in the last few days.

It was also hurricane like weather. I'm surprised that many people came to see this little indie film. God bless them.

Mandy...I thought it was a great little crowd for the weather conditions...
and the Italian feast going on...a few blocks away...and it was fashion week...

When....and what would it take for them to decide if they were going to open this in more areas...

I just checked the village East Cinema...website...and until this evening it is still playing 4 shows daily...starting tomorrow...only one show a day...5:15 p.m.
that's a wierd time to show it...but at least they are still showing it...for at least another week...

Well, I'll only get to see it if it gets anywhere near Vegas, unlikely because we have like zero independent movie houses here - sometimes this is a really annoying place to live - all the problems of the big city, none of the virtues or perks...guess I'm just jealous of those of you who have actually seen it.
