The boy could definitely be their son. I am so very intrigued to discover what happened to him.

I think the ocean is going to be symbolic. In one of the clips/teasers I think Dominic says something about Montauk being another character.

I feel kind of odd writing this, but I can't wait to see Josh in a sinister role.

I remember in one of the videos Allison asks Noah how is son is, so I wonder we're way off on assuming they show anything related to Cole and Allison's son's death. I'm thinking that is something that they may not flashback to and that the flashbacks start after it all happened.

Yes Dominic does mention that Montauk is a character of the show, so the ocean may not have any more significance than that. I've noticed that there are a lot of opening credits over the last few years don't really have much connection to the storyline of the show, so maybe they went with that for the beauty of it.

I don't think it will flash back to their son and what happened to him but I think we will find out through dialogue. I think that the flashback scenes are Noah and Alison meeting and their versions of it. The child running down the beach may be just to remind us that something happened to Cole and Alison's son and that is the reason why Alison is looking for a change in her life.
