The way Sarah Treem kills off characters (Scotty, Alison), I wouldn't be surprised. Remember the pics of Cole's Jeep? I wonder if they pulled it out of the ocean. Cole will "sink back into the ocean" like Alison.

I think it's funny how in the Season 3 intro credits, it shows the whole cast drowning in the ocean.

Definitely. At lest in the Season 4 intro they showed Cole's back as he's looking at the big Morro Bay Rock from the Phoebe Tonkin episode.

Last year Season 4 premiered on June 17th.

A later start date makes sense, since Season 4 finished filming in January 2018 and Season 5 finished filming in May 2019.

I could be wrong, but I think that was around the time they were filming season 4 in Montauk. Remember they filmed the funeral which was the last ep there while they were filming stuff from the beginning eps as well.

Saw a tweet from the pr lady of Showtime, answering someone's question about when is the final season airing. She said final season will air early fall. So, back to the normal timeslot for the earlier seasons I think, because of the lateness of filming this time round. I would think it's only a certainty when Showtime officially announce it.

They probably want a later release date so viewers will be ready for a bit of a time jump. I think they will have moved on from the death of Alison and maybe be months if not a year or two down the line.

I only have a mild interest in what happens to the characters who are left, as the show has sort of petered out. No Colin, No Ruth and now no Josh. Dominic and Maura are the only ones left who I would want to watch, and I don't really like either of their characters.

We knew he wasn't in Season 5. It was hinted last September when it was announced "he would not be returning" as a series regular. There were no sightings or pap pics of him filming.

That being said, I wonder what role his Jeep will play. I'm guessing he got into an accident and died.

Goodbye, Cole. You gave us a reason to watch The Affair for 4 seasons.
