About the Series

At once deeply observed and intriguingly elusive, THE AFFAIR explores the emotional effects of an extramarital relationship. Noah is a New York City schoolteacher and novelist who is happily married, but resents his dependence on his wealthy father-in-law. Alison is a young waitress trying to piece her life and marriage back together in the wake of a tragedy. Set in Montauk at the end of Long Island, the provocative drama unfolds separately from both the male and female perspectives, using the distinct memory biases of both to tell the story.

I totally forgot that Busy was on ER with Maura. As was Mare Winningham!

I lost interest in ER when Dr. Green died. I really would have liked to see him earlier this year in the play with Josh :(

Sarah really loves Sanaa.

I really hope Josh is going to do the Affair and that working dinner was about that. Yeh, I know wishful thinking.

And Dom and Maura, and now Anna Paquin. Constantly praises them in her twitter and IG posts. Sarah definitely has her favorites.

Maybe she praises them to keep them sweet. :D

#TheAffair casts Lyriq Bent & Clara Wong joins ‘The I-Land’

Quote:

She’s Gotta Have It‘s Lyriq Bent is set for a key recurring role opposite Anna Paquin on Showtime’s The Affair. Bent plays Paul, the husband of Joanie (Paquin), sports agent and father of their two daughters. He struggles to keep his wife from falling off the cliff of depression, as they get closer and closer to a terrifying inevitability. Season five will chronicle the aftermath of the season finale’s horrific events and find the characters coming to terms with the consequences of their choices – as they make the realization that if they really want to change their futures, they must first, face the past. Bent is known for his role as Jamie Overstreet on Netflix’s She’s Gotta Have It, which is going into its second season on Netflix. Bent also starred in Acrimony for Lionsgate and in Nappily Ever After, which is currently streaming on Netflix. He’s repped by Buchwald, The Associates Talent & Literary Management in Toronto and managed by Gorav Seth.

Anna had a pic of them together on her IG, a week or so back. Funny how they've just announced it now. Going by this description, looks like Cole could only be in one or two eps if that. Not sure how I feel about this story line being the closing one for the Lockhardts.

I honestly think it should of ended after season 4. It's truer to the original premise.

Conway1 12-21-2018 12:23 AM

So adult Joanie is going to suffer from depression in Season 5...just like her mother did. I wonder if the "terrifying inevitability" will be Joanie finding out that her mother was murdered, not suicide.

It's possible that this is the direction they will go. She could also have depression due to losing her mum when she was young, and seeing her Dad go in a downward spiral because of it. That's my guess the last part, and we will never know probably how he was after.

I don't see her going to Montauk to find out what happened if she doesn't find out the truth. Though 30 years later, I don't know how you would find the truth if they couldn't find anything when it happened.

JJH85 12-21-2018 06:47 AM

I wonder if Cole hid the "truth" from Joanie and just told her it was an accident. Although Cole believes she was murdered, it was ruled as suicide and Cole may have wanted to protect that piece of evidence from Joanie given that his father committed suicide and knowing how that felt, he wanted to protect her from living with the fact that her mother might have done that herself.
