If Cole is secretly feeding poor and hungry in his free time then OK, but if Sarah will do to him what she did to Noah- drugs, craziness, adultery & making everyone around him miserable - then no. Three crazy main characters (and Whitney) is more than enough.

I know that in Hollywood craziness = awards, but ... There was an episode in S1 where Cole said he "will fight like hell to my last breath to keep Montauk local", he wanted to protect his hometown from "the almighty dollar", remember? Let´s revive this storyline, maybe, make Cole a secret socialist or/and an environmentalist who fights for his home, who fights global warming etc. Maybe Cole can run for an office or something.

Ratings are back to normal:

I guess, people either didn´t know that The Affair was on air last Sunday, or they were still drunk & too happy to watch it.

Glad to see the ratings went up. I truly believe the reason they were down last Sunday is because it was New Year's Day and here in Canada the Monday was a Holiday, so yeah people were still drinking

Plus I think people also didn't realize it was back on, I mean no show comes back that early after the Holidays.

I don't necessarily believe that the only reason fans want more Cole is so that they can drool over him, I truly believe there is a lot of interesting potential there in the Lockhart backstory and not just the history of Cole's father and Grandfather, but also the drug business and how Cherry got so in debt that they lost the Ranch without being able to recover anything from it. How did Alison become part of the drug business, did she sign up right away,, or was it a gradual participation based on a need to be a part of something. There's so much to explore, which I never felt with Noah. I feel this whole season was an after thought, but I could be wrong and as much as I enjoyed the episode with Juliette's POV, I don't quite get how it added to the story.

Believe me, a lot of fans really seem to follow Cole only because of Josh. And that is very frustrating because, like you said, Cole has the potential to be a very interesting character with all his family backstory, the drug business ecc..
I wonder if the drug business was already there when Gabriel was born. That would be interesting to find out. I think Alison decided to play a part in that business after her son's death as symptom of her depression, like the cutting.

There really is a lot we can explore with them. I hope we get some answers to some of our questions.

I hope so. This is another reason why i think the return of the drug business would be interesting, now that Cole and Alison have Joanie.

I really don't see us getting any explanation of the drug business or Cole's past. I could be wrong, but it doesn't seem to anything they even hinted at exploring. I don't think Cole has been so badly served these past two seasons, though. I'd just like to see more of his POV, the way we've gotten so much of Helen's this season.

I love the Affair, but at this point I want more Cole because it means less Noah.

The lockhart's backstory and Cole's father have been mentioned in season 2, so there must be something about Cole's past to explore.

I love how Josh is holding her. It looks like they were having fun before the pic was taken.

I just mentioned this pic in the other Thread

I loved the episode and i think that Cole is lying. I want to know where he really was and what he was really doing, maybe if we don't get to see it this season, it will be for season 4.

And of course, I am forever rooting for Alison & Cole to be together again. I think they eventually will end up together by the end of season 4.

This one is a great review:

Quote:
"308" brims with quiet sorrow. It's The Affair at its most emotionally honest, with wounded, yearning performances by Ruth Wilson and Joshua Jackson being a highlight.
Despite the simplicity of this episode, there is so much to consider — like Cole's odd decision to confide in Oscar about his brief affair with Alison, which will come back to haunt him. Nevertheless, I can't help but keep coming back to Alison and Cole. Their story illuminates how timing, circumstance, and selfishness can ruin a great connection. In another series, they would be the couple who lived happily ever after. In The Affair, that is an impossibility.
