Phoebe! I should be around more once the season starts this Sunday. Do you know that I didn't even realize that there was another book out yet? Now I will be stopping by B&N on my way home from work. I'm a terrible ES fan.

I'm thinking the biting and some of the "stalkerish" stuff is actually a dream. I honestly don't think that Eric would bite her for real, but maybe he does and gets all freaked out by it.

I remember AB saying vampires could dream - so I'm assuming Eric will have dreams about his past, specially Pam and Godric - and I can see old Godric popping in and somehow confusing the hell out of Eric.

if the biting scene is real... I don't know. I don't know how Sookie could forgive him for that, memory or no memory - she already has been bitten against her will one too many times, So I don't know how that can be real and she still fall for him. So I'm hoping it's just a dream or a witchy induced hallucination.

as for the "stalkerish" behavior in the promos - well we have no context for those scenes yet - so I think it's how Jen said, we have to be patient and try not to panic

Ooo I haven't seen any Pam/Sookie scene, can someone point me towards it please?

And as for stalkerish behaviour- well that gif of them running didn't come across as him chasing her/ a stalker thing to me- he's shirtless and she's in the same outfit as she 'finds' him in- from a promo we know she takes him home, so this must be on the way home or at her house. The way he's running parallell to and past her made me think there's something going on that they're both running to, he's just doing blurry vamp running to get there faster? That's just what the scene said to me anyway, so I'm not panicking yet. But no, don't want pushy/stalkery behaviour.

I just can't be assed to worry right now. If there's stuff to get mad at, oh I'll get mad when it happens but I want to float on a placid sea until then

“It was just important for us to realize that it’s not like a completely different Eric. It is a different side of the same guy. She knows that, and that creates a platform for some drama, I think, because she knows who he is and she knows that he’s dangerous and what he’s done in the past, but then she’s seeing this vulnerability and there’s goodness in there. I think she already saw that in Season 3, a little glimmer of hope there, and now she’s exploring it more. But I think it’s important to remember that that was already inside Eric, but he had this big wall built up around himself to protect himself.”
— Alexander Skarsgård about Amnesia Eric and Sookie

I love what he said

Alexander Skarsgård putting it all into perspective when it comes to amnesiac Eric.

And that's to all the haters who are saying that Sookie falls in love with the "fake" Eric, not the "real" Eric. Such BS.

ETA: This was also in the interview...
Quote:
GM: Do you keep up with Charlaine Harris‘ Sookie Stackhouse novels? Or does it become too confusing to follow what’s happening with Eric in “True Blood” and then also in the mystery series?

AS: I read the first five novels before we started Season 1 just to understand the world. Then, when we started shooting, I stopped because I got confused — was that from a script or was that from a novel? What I do now is I go back and I re-read the book before that season basically. I re-read the fourth book before we started this season, and when we wrap Season 4, I’ll go back and I’ll re-read the fifth book. They’re loosely based on those books, but it kind of gives me an idea of potentially what world we’re in next year and gives me something to think about while we’re on hiatus.

book five was the boring one? I honestly don't remember much of it, I lose interest when Eric's not there being all gorgeous

and that Bill and Jess scene was sweet - I was hoping he'd actually start being a maker

Book 5 is mainly Eric trying to convince Sookie what happened. And someone shooting weres..I think. And Charles. Who was there becauseEric killed Longshadow. So since Eric didn't kill Longshadow, who the heck knows what will happen

read that soo many times & so glad that Alex cleared that up

btw Im a fan of real life couples & so Steph & Anna & i dont see that as the main reason for writing the pairing, actors are professionals so there's no background thinking it may affect the sls

there isn't. and I dunno how serious AB is being about Bill and SOokie being soulmates. I don't see it. It wasn't there in the books and it isn't there in the show. SO I can only hope he's pulling our legs with that statement.

He does seem to be a complete BS shipper - yet when you watch the show you can see clear clues from at least season 2 onward that their relationship was flawed. And they wrote those clues there, they were meant to be there.

there were also subtle clues thrown in that make one raise their eyebrows if they're playing close attention.

like:
- what was the purpose of that one single scene in season 3 where Sam had a sex dream about Bill? They never touched on that again. That dream had no serious consequences for either Sam's or Bill's storylines that season, so what the hell was that about? I think it was another reminder to us of what the vampire blood can cause... and one must only remember SOokie had A LOT of Bill's blood the night after they met.

other interesting clues:
- after Eric tricks Sookie into drinking his blood and Bill tells her there's the possibility that she'll be attracted to him, Bill looks guilty as he says that, and Sookie doesn't connect the dots there and doesn't realize what that means about her and Bill at all... surely that makes Sookie come out real dumb...

BUT

- when Sookie and Hugo are imprisoned in the Fellowship of the Sun basement, Hugo confronts Sookie with some truths that she flat out denies (because well, she is in denial.)
"No. I guess you wouldn't know how your life changes to suit them. You start missing work, can't get up in the morning, can't stand to leave them after dark... Before you know you're somebody you don't even recognize."
Sookie continues to deny that she is anything like that, and when Hugo tells her Bill's been using her, her only refute is a "Shut up!" but you can see in her face that his words are getting to her.

Now I know some of you don't think True Blood is well written and I agree they don't always get it right. But what I get from Sookie's and Bill's story is: Sookie is regarded as a freak who can't have relationships. Up comes a man she can't read - who does not intimidate her with his thoughts and whose quiet company is soothing. Of course she's smitten, but it's his blood that makes her fall (obssess) for him. It's a toxic relationship in the sense that it's a lie - it's started as a lie and it changed her. WHen Eric tells her the truth about Bill she is comfronted with all that and it downs to her what her life with Bill had been.

Bill's feelings for her were real, and maybe hers for him were to some extent too - we can't know one way or the other. But mostly she was seduced by his silence and then enslaved by the blood. SO where is the love story there ladies and gentlemen? I don't see it. I see a story of naivité and then being smacked in the face and then hopefully a bit of growing up.
Maybe they'll change that later on - but I don't see it how they could have that meaningful of a relationship now given how it started.

sorry for the long rant I just love analysing stuff like that in stories. hopefully it was fun or interesting to read.

what I mean by all that is... for all the BS propaganda we get... the show does seem to say the contrary sometimes and I guess that means something.

Enterntainment Weekly Cover

Eric and Sookie are on the cover of " Enterntainment Weekly " , there are two more of Sookie/Alcide and Sookie/Bill but I only care about this one !!!!!
It's an reinterpretion of the classic Grant Wood painting American Gothic ....

Quote:
Playing the smoking hot vampire Eric Northman is humbling, to say the least, for Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgard. So to say that he’s used to the adoration from female fans of True Blood, the subject of this week’s Entertainment Weekly cover story, would be a bit of an understatement. (For proof, consider this little detail that EW dug up from Charlaine Harris, the author of the extremely popular Sookie Stackhouse novels that serve as the inspiration for True Blood: She says that fans often ask her to autograph the tomes to “Mrs. Alexander Skarsgard.”)

“I’ll never get used to that,” Skarsgard said of his googly-eyed fanbase. “It’s just very, very humbling and flattering. The character Eric means so much to me and I’m having so much fun playing him. Of course it means a lot when you meet fans and you can actually tell there are people out there who really do care about the character. It means something to you, then. That’s kind of why you do this whole thing.”
Eric fans could have plenty to salivate over this season, which begins June 26 on HBO. This year, True Blood is inspired by book four of the Stackhouse series, Dead to the World, which features a steamy shower scene between Sookie and the tall, light and handsome vamp. Unfortunately, Skargard isn’t in the mood to kiss and tell. He will say, however, that sex this year is, um, a little more down to earth. “I did some crazy stuff last year. I almost had sex with a Greek man and I was covered in his goo. Everything from here on is pretty childish. Everything’s quite innocent.”

Quote:
Anna, on Sookie’s attraction to three men: “There’s yearning and longing, lust and protection from those three relationships. And it’s very difficult for her to choose, and she doesn’t want to choose, either.”

Alexander, on why he likes the show to differ from the True Blood books:“You want fans of the books who’ve read them a million times to still be surprised when they watch the show. We can’t be like, ‘Oh, well, now this is going to happen, and now this is going to happen, and here’s that.’ It’s important to keep it fresh.”

Creator Alan Ball, on being proud of the series: “One of my favorite things I’ve heard is how one of our former assistant directors was visiting her college girlfriends in Texas and one of their husbands came up to say, ‘I just have to thank you for the show because we’re having the best sex we’ve had in years,’ and I’m like, ‘Good! That’s good!’”

Thanks for the scans! I need this magazine (even though I'm not really a fan of the all covers).
