Nicole, heh. Oh you're gonna have to wait like everyone else
I KNOW who will end up with whom.. but, gotta have build up, right? heh.
Oh, i should mention, she lives with her parents, and her best friend who's parent's got killed in a car crash a year before.
She is human, and knows everything about Lili, they have been best friends since they were kids. So her Mother adopted her since she has no other family to speak of.

That's sweet! And you're calling her Lili! That's so adorable! I love it when there's one character that calls the main character by a nickname like that, it makes me literally sigh out loud when I read it.

And yes, build up is everything. I think there might be a bit of a conflict for you right now cause on one hand you want people to get invested and care about relationships (otherwise there won't be book 2), but on the other hand if you have a long series you'd rather develop them slowly and let things develop naturally, right?

Nicole, Exactly.
It won't be too long... i hate how some authors drag out their series, and it gets worse and worse *coughAnitablakecough*.
So i'm thinking about 5 books.
And there may be spinoffs from them.

I think it's good to have a plan and not start to drag it out just for the sake of the fans. Until you think you have good storylines you still want to tell, I think you should keep going. After that point, even the most talented writer is going to have a tough time pleasing the readers.

Nicole, Indeed. Write the character's story. No more. No Less.
I know it's better to write, what you know.. and what you would read.
At least that's how i look at it.

I am, i come up with new ideas all the time. I'm really excited. I keep joting things down, coming up with new things for the characters.

When do the books come out? You all got me hooked and now I'm going through withdrawals with you.
I highlighted my favorite moments. I can't even pick one or two because they were so many, but every time Kate saw an attractive man and went 'ugh, it's been over a year' I almost died laughing. The poor girl.
I loved everything with Derek - from the first book. He's awesome. With Kate/Curran I loved the 'you will say please and thank you'. I loved it when he kissed her in the first book for luck, and when they started "fighting" in the second.
When Kate understood him giving her food was a sign of his interest was simply hilarious, I was laughing throughout that whole scene. And obviously the end of book 3 when he goes back to rescue her
I love how they can be cute without being schmoopy, which is so often the case when two characters get together.
Pretty much any moment they fought was my favorite. I realize this makes me a weird person.
And the 'kitty kitty' comments...

Absolutely.
I think it's a great idea doing it in Melbourne, because if you did it, for instance in Paris, anyone who lives there would know that you'd never been there and the place itself doesn't feel right. And many times the city they live in becomes a character itself.

How have you not been to New Zealand? I want to go and it's so far away! Everyone I know is like 'I want to work until I have enough money to move to NZ'
Although I want to go to Australia too.

crazy_diamond (sorry, I forgot your name ) you should buy it! It's so worth it!
