Joe Manganiello to return to the Stage in “A Streetcar Named Desire"! “True Blood” star Joe Manganiello is returning to his roots in the theater. In an interview with Speakeasy, Manganiello exclusively revealed that he has accepted the role of Stanley Kowalski in Tennessee Williams’ “A Streetcar Named Desire” at the Yale Repertory Theatre in New Haven, CT this fall. “That’s where it really all started for me,” Manganiello said, referring to his background in classical theater. This is not the first time Manganiello has played the role of Kowalski. He played the role at the West Virgina Public Theatre in 2008.
