Who is William Bell?

William Bell is the former lab partner of Walter Bishop. He is founder and Chief Executive Officer of Massive Dynamic.
A seven-time honoree in Business Leaders Journal's
list of "America's Most Inspiring Corporate Leaders," Dr. Bell is also a Fellow of the Nationa
l Scientific Progress Council and the only two-time recipient of the Macro Genius Award.

In 1992, the year after his lab partner and dear friend was institutionalized, William Bell
founded Massive Dynamic. It is through this company he utilized positive scientific discoveries
to benefit mankind and to possibly use the money and power gained through the success of his company to further preserve
the ZFT manuscript and experiments. William Bell has played a key role in every aspect
of the business, from R&D to marketing. His personal vision continues to guide the firm's progress,
and his ongoing research constantly yields new innovations and product lines.

In Season One

During the entirety of the events of season 1, William Bell's location is unknown to everyone including Nina Sharp.
It is revealed however, that he has been residing comfortably in the Alternate Universe for the past several months.
His actions during the time period which Season 1 takes up is unknown. His base of operations,
or at least the spot he chose for his meeting with Olivia Dunham, is an office at the top of
the World Trade Center (which in that reality was not destroyed), which he somehow transports Olivia Dunham to at the season's end.

In Season Two

After returning to her reality, Olivia Dunham has trouble remembering what Bell told.
After a few weeks, she remembers that he warned her of the storm, in which the two universe
would collide if she didn't stop Thomas Jerome Newton from being resurrected. ("Momentum Deferred")

During Walter Bishop's time in St. Clair's, he removed parts of his brain and hid them in three other people. ("Grey Matters")

He teams up with Olivia Dunham and Walter Bishop in the Alternate Universe. He tells Walter
how his crossing over in the 1980's began to destroy this world. He later reveals that Walter
himself asked him to remove his memories. Bell can not cross over again, as his atoms
would split apart and no trace of him would remain in either universe. Because of this,
he sacrifices himself so the others can return home. ("Over There: Part 2")

In Season Three

At the end of Os, Walter rings William's bell he entrused to Nina Sharp, which summoned
Bell back through soul magnets, but into Olivia's body.

Bell is able to help the Fringe division solve a case while trying to find a more suitable host,
but Olivia's body begins to have problems supporting two consciousnesses. ("Stowaway")

Walter and Peter go inside Olivia's mind to find her consciousness and move Bell's into a computer,
but their plan ultimately fails, and though Olivia is saved Bell's consciousness dies. ("Lysergic Acid Diethylamide")

In Season Four

In the Alternate Timeline, William Bell was still alive. Nothing is known about him, however,
except for the fact that by 2036, he was encased in amber with the rest of the Fringe team.

Star Trek legend Leonard Nimoy journeys back into the unknown

Famously linked to Star Trek and its mission to explore strange new worlds and boldly go where no man has gone before, Leonard Nimoy continued that quest not only in Fringe but way before that in the series In Search of ...

And now the 1976-1982 documentary show is re-entering our galaxy for the first time in any home entertainment format, with a special DVD collector's set In Search of ... The Complete Series to be released by Visual Entertainment Inc on December 4.

The series saw Nimoy traversing the globe with a team of researchers, scientists and technicians to conduct in-depth investigations of a variety of mysteries and to explore the unexplained.

So popular that it spawned six books, In Search of ... took a fresh look at the paranormal; witchcraft, notorious murders; infamous cults; conspiracy theories; missing persons, cities and ships; bizarre natural phenomena; scientific breakthroughs; age-old myths; the lore surrounding historical events and figures; and other unusual events.

From the rumoured existence of Nazi plunder and the real-life inspiration for Sherlock Holmes to tracking the Loch Ness monster and UFO cover-ups, it provided an entertaining romp with appeal to sci-fi fans, science devotees and history buffs.

The DVD set includes 152 episodes on 21 discs (more than 63 hours), plus two Rod Serling-hosted specials, which aired prior to the start of the Nimoy-hosted series; and the relaunched 2002 series (eight hour-long episodes) hosted by Mitch Pileggi (X Files).

In Search of ... The Complete Series is presented in full screen (aspect ratio: 4x3) and stereo.

Yeah I thought it was fitting a title for Bell since that's basically what happens every time.

‘Fringe’ Final Season: Will Leonard Nimoy Return?

With each passing episode, ‘Fringe‘ gets closer and closer to its series finale and 100th episode “An Enemy of Fate,” which began production this week following a celebration of the cult sci-fi hit’s five-year run. The final season will resume with this Friday’s “The Human Kind,” but plenty of mysteries are left between now and then. In particular, we’ve been wondering; will sci-fi icon Leonard Nimoy’s William Bell return, more than just his hand? New details from show-runner J.H. Wyman inside!

‘Fringe’s final season has reprised a number of plot threads and elements from its previous years, as it works toward its inevitable endpoint next year. One return that has ‘Fringe’ fans brimming with anticipation is the possible return of “retired” ‘Star Trek‘ vet Leonard Nimoy, who was last seen frozen in amber in last year’s 2036-centric “Letters of Transit” before Walter Bishop relieved him of his hand to use as a key to a storage facility.

With the final season of ‘Fringe’s rapid 13-episode pace, there may not be much room for Nimoy’s character William Bell, as show-runner J.H. Wyman clarified to IGN in a recent interview. Spoilers beware:

You know, I’m not going to lie. You don’t see him anymore. He’s been such an iconic part of the program, but the secrets and elements that he was involved in are now on the wane. Now it’s about keeping everybody alive and trying to get there. But his legacy lives on, and what he stands for lives on in a very big way — and his influence on Walter.

Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time we’ve been told that Nimoy planned to stay retired, or we’d been surprised by the return of the character. With only 6 episodes left in the entire series, do you think ‘Fringe’ will find a way to include Leonard Nimoy, or have we really seen the last of William Bell?

Sorry for the DP. Having finally caught up, I'm really disappointed with the Bell SL. I've always seen him as the bold one, the one who would cross the line, but in the sense that for him science couldn't be halted. Now they turned him into a traitor who sold out his friend/co-scientist to gain favors with the observers. What favors? Could they at least tell us that?

Another thing. In The Day We Died, Bell had that observer gun and he knew how to trap September. Where did he get it and could it be related to whatever happened to September?

We don't know what kind of deal Bell made with the Observers. It's possible he was trying to do the right thing but the Observers double crossed him? Once again it's pretty vague but the impression they left us with is less than ideal.

All good questions that we probably wont know the answer to.

But that's the problem, they just throw these things and don't give us any explanation; they simply use the characters to conveniently fit what they're telling at the moment, it didn't use to be like this.

And because The Hobbit is out, enjoy

I agree Sofia. I don't like the vagueness either. If they just gave explanations of the character motivation then there wouldn't be so many questions.

The video--

I've never written an episode for a TV show of course, but I don't understand how hard it can be to throw a line here and there

The video is awesome

I know right!! Sometimes I just don't understand TV Writers. 1 quality line of dialogue can make all the difference. Why can't they see that?

That video is weird! I have no idea what its supposed to mean.

Leonard Nimoy is here to tell you about NASA’s Ion-Thrusting Dawn Mission

With all the excitement over NASA's recent success (and plans for future missions) on Mars, people sometimes overlook the Agency's other deep space missions. And there are many. One of our favorites of these lesser-known (but still remarkable) missions is Dawn.

The Dawn mission revolves around the exploration of Vesta and Ceres, the two largest known asteroids in our solar system. The Dawn spacecraft entered orbit around Vesta in July of 2011, departed in September 2012, and has been making its way for Ceres ever since, with a scheduled orbital insertion date of February 2015. In doing so, Dawn will become the first spacecraft to orbit two different solar system bodies (excepting Earth, of course). In this great little video, Leonard Nimoy joins NASA researchers in explaining what kind of science is underway aboard the Dawn spacecraft, and what lies ahead for the intrepid little ion-thrusting orbiter. Oh, did I forget to mention? Dawn is also also the first purely exploratory mission in history to make use of ion propulsion. Yes, Dawn has ION PROPULSION ENGINES. Three of them, to be exact. To reiterate: Dawn brings the awesome.

No it wasn't. I don't feel like we got closure on Bell's character. Does anyone else feel the same?
