... it's several years after the show ended. Astrid has risen through the ranks and is now the director of a branch of the FBI investigating odd phenomena that are being reported all over the globe at an alarmingly increasing frequency. She calls in Walter Bishop, a retired and slightly eccentric, but brilliant scientist who resurfaced recently after having disappeared for several years. Despite his claims of having returned from the future, Astrid feels his brilliance more than compensates for his eccentricity. He has the added advantage that he seems unfazed by any of the odd occurrences.
