I can't wait to get the DVDs and go back and watch all the clues leading up to this episode. I feel like with all the breaks and everything I forgot some of them. I'm having a Fringe marathon when the DVDs come out.

I have a few theories about the show/ episode developing:

maybe the peter when he was young into the alternate world, and the peter from the alternate world is the peter in our world now.

Does anyone remember in "the arrival" walter explains to peter how they were "saved" and supposedly peter died but than they were alive. This seems like it might have something to do with the alternate worlds. But it seems possible that peter could be from the other world.

I also have a theory about the whole book that was supposedly written by William bell about the "war". The war they could be speaking about could be a war between the two different realities. Because Nina Sharp says in the finale that there are beginning to be more "weak spots" in the earth that make it easy to travel to the other reality. And these week spots are caused by technology, so the technological advance by humans is causing these week spots which could make the two worlds somehow come together and there would be a "war".
The book could be why they were treating children with cortexifan so they could have warriors travel between the two worlds to act as an army.
does that make sense to anyone?

Mr. Jones - "I'd love stay, but I gotta split!"

And the WTC shot....wow, my jaw just dropped.

And noticed that the NY Post said The Obamas are moving into the "New White House"?

I really want to know about this Alternate Universe. This reminded me of The Twilight Zone! And I like it...

And seriously how cool was it that Olivia was in The World Trade Center in the Alternate dimension!!!!

Oh and how disgusting was Jones? Thank God he died. Ew.

ya my dad actually had a theory about these things.

ok, so there were 4 planes on sept 11. 2 crashed into the world trade centers, 1 crashed into the pentagon, and 1 headed for the White House crashed in a field in Pennsylvania b/c the passengers were trying to stop the terrorists.

What if, in the alternate universe, the plane headed for the White House met its destination, but the ones that crashed into the World Trade Center didn't?

I am so blown away by this episode. It was incredible.

I knew this Peter wasn't the original Peter -- I just never thought about an alternate reality. And after all the AU fanfic I've read!!

This also explains why a couple of episodes ago Olivia kept "seeing" different realities, like Broyles' office furniture moved around. Olivia at the very least has the ability to see into the alternate universe. This was obviously recognized when she was a child, but never put into practice. Never got the training.

That's how I felt, too. Peter just seemed a little 'off' about certain things, but the alternate reality was never put on the table so I never thought about it.

I knew something was up once Walter visited the grave. And when the Observer gave him the new shiny coin and said, 'this isn't the one you're thinking of. but there is two of everything.' BAM! I was sold. I knew that Peter had a crazy obsession with playing with coins, and this was somehow connected.

SOOOO Brilliant.

With JFK still being alive, was that on the paper that talked about the Obamas moving into the NEW White House? I missed it if it mentioned him being alive still, then.

If you remember the end of episode 2.

Walter Bishop: …Sometimes I forget myself, but then you already know that.
Olivia Dunham: What do you mean?
WB: If you’ve read my file. Then you know the truth, about Peter’s medical history. I’ve been meaning to ask you-
OD: Walter….there was no mention of any medical history, just his birth day.

I knew something was up!

Now whats this medical history....

Yeah I didn't see the JFK thing either. Was it on the newspaper?

When watching the ep, I deliberately paused the shot of the newspaper to try to read the other sub-headlines. I couldn't make anything out; it was at a bad angle and too blurry. But I didn't see anything about JFK being alive either.

Where'd you see/hear that, Conway1?

I think he means the fact that his son essentially died when he was 7 years old from a disease that has no cure. And yet he's still here. At least a version of him. I think that's what Walter was referring to.

Yeah it was on the newspaper shot. They've got screencaps of it over at Fringe Television

Holy mackeral, the web is going crazy with theory after theory.

My favorite: a concern about "Alter-Walter", the Walter from the other side of this reality having lost his Peter, to a kidnapping perhaps by our grief-stricken Walter.

Here's something: remember when our Walter re-entered St. Clare mental institution and he kept getting visited by another Walter? I think that wasn't a delusion, but "Alter-Walter"!

Here's the cap (Thanks, FringeTelevision.com)

At first, I thought it was Teddy Kennedy, but it's clearly JFK.

EXCELLENT idea, Donna! I think that Walter knows it's him, too. I'd have to go back and watch that episode to see if he had anything to say that may implicate about Peter being taken.
