The truth is that we'll never know. And personally i don't even care that much. I mean probably i'm the only one, but i don't care if actors do get along or not off set. They were able to portray a cute and realistic relationship with Peter and Olivia on the show, that's all that matters to me. Like someone else said they are actors, they are payed to sell a relationship on screen and they did it very well IMHO, regardless of what they felt or not felt for each other off screen.

I'm the same. It doesn't affect my enjoyment of the show in any way if they get along or not, provided they are professionals on screen and can be convincing in whatever roles and relationships they are cast.

OK, let's go over this again.

Joshua Jackson went on record at the end of S2 stating for TV Overmind that he did not want an on screen romance with Anna. She, on the other hand, did.

https://www.tvovermind.com/jackson-i...nge-romance-2/

During S3 Anna babbles and rants about the Peter/Olivia storyline in two interviews shown (What does she say?) and declines to talk about Josh in one interview shown. Almost like she's been jilted.

She seemed somewhat angry and bitter while discussing it. She called their relationship "a sh** show" in one interview. Why would she be somewhat angry and bitter over a fictional relationship?

https://www.joshuajacksonnews.com/fo...0-fringe/page2

All this came on the heels of Joshua Jackson going on record at the end of S2 for TV Overmind stating that he did not want an on screen romance with Anna. She, on the other hand, did.

Anna had just gotten divorced from Fringe co-star Mark Valley (John Scott) and may have become smitten with Josh for real. He did not reciprocate and there you have it. Enter Diane Kruger and you have the nail in the coffin.

It's pretty much there in black and white.

Yep. Look at Casablanca. Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman hated each other's guts but still they were able to portray one of the most iconic romances on screen. I think people really tend to forget that they are actors who are doing a job. It's the same when two actors have amazing chemistry on screen and people are like: they clearly have a thing for each other in real life too. Mmm, no. They are payed to lie, that's their job. I'm not saying that it can't happen (even if the rate of successful romances that started on set are very low), but it's not a prerogative to do your job properly. Acting is like a normal job where you can find people you get along with, people you don't get along with it, but at the end of the day you are payed to do your job well, regardless of your personal feelings on the matter.

Returning on topic, I've always loved this little moment in s5
