Is it odd that he doesn't have his briefcase with him?

Did you guys know his name is also September? Josh called him September during Jimmy Kimmel and I think that's what they were calling him in the script.

Yeah I remember Josh called him September on Kimmel. I wonder why they chose that name for him ...

Aww you are so good! I saw it on my tv but I couldn't even tell that it was him!

How come I can't tell from my own tv screen but you do?!

Also I find this very odd that he was right there before he died. I mean not all episodes, but most episodes came with him being there before something bad happens. But I could be wrong.

I didn't see him when I watched it on TV the first time lol. But the second time I spotted him... because I was looking for him I guess.

It was weird the time he was at the airport in Germany when nothing happened there but Olivia questioning the prisoner... I thought that was odd.

Yep, that's so scary and a little creepy because he was just there, do absolute nothing, just watching and left like that. I cant believe that he get paid to do that.

I would love to have my job like that.

I wonder if people notice him though. It seems like every time we see him, everyone is just walking around him and doesn't see him. When he's observing I mean.

I think that either one of two things is going on regarding The Observer's presence. Either he is so non-descript that people just don't notice him, 'cause they're in a heightened state of anxiety, or they're so busy with their problems, etc.

Or, we can see him, but they can't, unless he chooses to present himself. He is always so odd and stiff looking that I don't see how any of the investigators can miss him, yet they never seem to notice him. Really. Trained FBI investigators not see a strange stiff bald guy just standing around?

My theory is that he is a person from the future who is charged with coming back to the present day to ensure that what is supposed to happen happens. He is only allowed to observe, and may not be visible. However, if something that could change the course of events should occur, he can intervene by either saving someone's life (i.e. Peter's and Walter's) or stopping someone from doing something (Peter and that cone-drill thing in "The Arrival")

Before you go all "but we can see him", or "Broyles has pictures of him all over the world". Yes, we can see him, but I really don't believe think the Fringe characters can. And... Broyles is bald too... he may be observing The Observer.

That is a very interesting theory. I actually think that might be true. And also back in the Pilot (I don't know if it's still in there anymore) but in the intro there was writing that said "Observers are here" Observers, plural.

Yeah, I have a feeling there's a network of observers. He's always on the phone, so it might be other observers that he's communicating with. There might be a separate one observing Olivia, and another observing Pattern events, etc.

I started watching Fringe on Hulu this weekend. I just finished watching "The Arrival". One thing that jumped out at me was The Observer's taste for hot seasonings. Did anyone else think of "Roswell"? His notes looked a little like Roswell alien writing, as well.

^I did notice that and highly consider that at first. But then I read in an interview (I can't remember where at the moment) but JJ or someone working on the show said The Observer was not an alien, so I threw that idea out the window.
