The government is cancelling them for us.

Yep, pretty much everything cancelled was done for us!

Sports, TV shows, movie releases, concerts (I have tickets to about 30 this summer too)

The first real semi-reassuring news I've come across about coronavirus off of a Columbus, Ohio website.

"For most people, the virus causes only mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia, or death. The vast majority of people recover."

From what I've heard on various news sources, many people may never know they have it because the symptoms can be so mild in people who are otherwise healthy.

The drawback to that is these 'healthy' people then become carriers who could unknowingly transmit the disease to people who may have a bad reaction to it.

Exactly. And the more they discover about this virus, the worse it gets in terms of how long you can be contagious - possibly without knowing your are. Or how long the virus can survive on surfaces to contaminate more people. Those are the scary things about it.

That and people refuse to stay at home or follow guidelines to keep safe

I can understand people going to work despite the cautions, simply because they have no other choice. But what gets me is things like kids still gathering for spring break and similar things. Sure it's a bummer to miss those events. But it's a much bigger bummer to take the virus home and maybe infect your parents or siblings or your grandma.
