It's defintely a lifesaver
I remember a few times we lost power for 3-4 days and had to throw away everything in the Fridge and freezer (about 1,000$ in groceries) __________________

I was just glad I realized pretty much within the first hour after the power went out that it was probably going to last awhile and I was not going to tolerate the heat. I was able to find a hotel that had a room and power. Within a few hours news was reporting that it was getting impossible to find hotel rooms anywhere in the city. Plus this one was giving a special rate to folks they called "power refugees".
Thing is, even with that between what I lost in the freezer and the cost of the hotel - I could probably have paid for a good part of a generator. Can't have one in an apartment, but I will definitely have one in my house once I move.__________________

Yeah motels aren't cheap
at least if you're not in a budget motel which I know they get a bad wrap but most of them aren't that bad. Comfortable bed, AC, and a micro/fridge__________________

I've slept most of it
on new mess so my body is adjusting..How is yours, Sam?  I bet the working folk are glad to have a 3 day weekend__________________
