I was so saddened by the death of David Bowie. We always felt his presence when watching Fringe which is a nice tribute to him. RIP Mr. Jones.
Josh had just Tweeted a Happy Birthday to him a couple of days ago too. Josh Jackson @VancityJax · Jan 8 Happy Birthday Mr. Jones. https://www.instagram.com/p/BATAywStv6N/ EDIT Jeff Pinkner also Tweeted this. jeffpinkner @jeffpinkner · 2h2 hours ago David Robert Jones. Thomas Jerome Newton. With his guises & uncompromising artistry he revealed universes. It's a godawful small affair... __________________

Very sad indeed. In a world where so much music follows whatever the latest trend is, David Bowie was truly unique. RIP.

David bowie was really a true legend. I listened to him endlessly when I was a teenager and young adult and always used to smile at him having the same name as my favourite Monkee - he even changed it because he didn't want to be associated with little Davy Jones.
An easy mistake to make |

Has anyone been watching The new X-Files? I am not sure what to think. The first two episodes were good but the last one was a right load of codswallop! A man type lizard was bitten by a human and kept changing into a man. At first I thought it had to be someone's dream but it just ended with the lizard running into the woods and leaving Mulder standing watching. The whole episode was surreal and seemed to be some sort of hallucination, but there was no such explanation.

I've watched the whole season - and the Werewolf episode was definitely wacky - but in truly TXF style. I thought it was awesome - but a lot of that is because there were so many little Easter Eggs for the fans, and because it's a lot like some of the other really wacky original episodes like Bad Blood or Post-Modern Prometheus. It's played for comedy and very tongue-in-cheek.

I'm not sure you can really enjoy the reboot if you haven't seen at least some significant part of the original series. A lot of stuff wouldn't make any sense.

Why did Mulder and Scully have to give up their child for adoption for safety reasons? Was someone after him?

It's been a LONG time since I saw those episodes - but basically, yes. They knew that William had special abilities - as a baby in his crib there was evidence that he was able to get a mobile to start moving with his mind. Scully had to go into hiding to give birth to him, because there were people who were after her - to get her unborn baby. And some other things happened that made M/S realize that the only way to keep William safe is if no one - not even them - knew where he was. So they put him up for adoption and the last we saw of him, he was in a crib in his adopted parents' home - which appeared to be on a farm somewhere, probably in the midwest or the plains states. There was a flag with a white buffalo on it in the yard. Then the camera went into the house to show William in his crib - and again, he made the mobile start to move.

Thanks for the X-Files info, that clears that up.
I suppose that´s why a lot of Fringe fan fics showed Etta being adopted or at least taken away by Nina to save her from the Observers. That was of course before people knew the real reason she was not with her parents growing up. |

I wonder if anyone ever did a crossover where William was actually a girl - Etta - who was adopted by Peter and Olivia. That would be very bizarre.
