How was everyone's Thanksgiving stateside?

Good. We had the usual too much food and lots of leftovers to divide up amongst the family. My niece was recently diagnosed as gluten intolerant, so we experimented with gluten free versions of a lot of the traditional dishes. Most of them turned out okay.

good! i pretty much chilled at home and then went to the movies with a friend. i've never been a big thanksgiving fan, so for me a good time is just having the day off and relaxing.

I did absolutely nothing!

A lot of my family has passed away the last few years, including my mom. Holidays just aren’t exciting anymore honestly for me

That's the hardest part of getting older - dealing with friends and family passing away. The only real family I have left is my brother, although his girlfriend and I are friends and he has a step daughter who I consider my niece. But even with that, my family gatherings are really small.

Yeah ours have been to, it’s sad cause especially Christmas was always a big deal in our families but not so much anymore

One of the hardest things for me is with my mom gone, all the traditions we grew up with have been forgotten. The decorations, the meal, and just the things we do on Christmas day are mostly what my brother's girlfriend wants us to do and it's nothing like what my family usually did.

Well, yes, I do resent it somewhat. We should blend our traditions, not do everything based on just one person's way of doing things.
