There are good things about both of them. I like that AO3 is a somewhat freer environment - less restrictions - but I like ff.net search tools and review process better.

Fringe Fan Fiction Thread #1

Open it and read it. It's a "Fringe" companion website with fanfic stories about people in the alternate universe who became encased in amber during the Blight.

AMC (American Movie Classics) has just done something great for fans of 20th century romantic wetlook. According to the January 8, 2020 reports from both TV Guide and Premiere Magazine, they are having a wetlook festival every Saturday coming in February. That means that every Saturday evening, you'll be seeing a lot of guns, dames, private investigators, and a lot of wet clothing to keep you hot on cold winter nights. AMC is calling it the "Winter of Wetlook." Here are some of the old classics to be featured next month (which includes an extra Saturday, February 29!).

On February 1, 2020 starting at 8P.M. EST is the 1922 film "The Isle of Love" starring Virginia Rappe (1895 – 1997), who goes into a pool in a black evening dress.

Other classics airing that day are, Marjorie Beebe falls into a swimming pool in a red dress in the 1931 Film "Movie Town", airing this upcoming January.

"My Man Godfrey" (1936), Carole Lombard (1908 - 2009) is placed under a shower in an evening gown.

"Nothing Sacred" (1937) also starring Carole Lombard, who this time jumps into the bay in a blue suit, seamed stockings and all.

"My Favorite Wife" (1940), in which Irene Dunne falls into a pool in a business suit.

The Blonde Bomber" Carole Landis (1919 - 2015), falls in a lake in an evening dress in "Having Wonderful Crime" (1945). Here she is pictured in a 1944 USO tour during World War II.

Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed dance themselves into a swimming pool fully clothed in "It's a Wonderful Life" (1946).

"Roman Holiday" (1953) starring Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck.

Anita Ekberg wades in Trevi Fountain in her evening dress along with Marcello Mastroianni in his business suit in "La Dolce Vita" (1960).

"The Getaway", the original 1972 film starring Steve McQueen, Ali MacGraw and Sally Struthers ("All in the Family", "Gloria").

Andrea Howard jumps into the lake in her business suit during a hot pursuit in "The Return of Maxwell Smart" (1980).

Ann-Margaret and Bruce Dern climb into a Jacuzzi fully clothed in "Middle Age Crazy" (1980).

Al Pacino pulls Michelle Pfeiffer into his bubble bath fully clothed in a business suit in "Scarface" (1983).

"Romancing the Stone" (1984) starring Michael Douglas (The Streets of San Francisco) and Kathleen Turner.

Robert Redford and Debra Winger in soaked business suits in the 1986 film "Legal Eagles".

Susan Blakely gets seduced into the shower fully clothed in a business suit, hose and heels, and all, with Gary Hudson in the 1988 film "Ladykillers".

"Licence to Kill" (1989), the James Bond film starring Timothy Dalton and Carey Lowell.

"Blue Ice" (1992) starring Michael Caine and Sean Young in a red business suit in the shower.

Kathleen Turner once again gets all wet and muddy in her business suit in "Undercover Blues" (1993) also starring Dennis Quaid.

"Hackers" (1995) starring Jonny Lee Miller and Angelina Jolie.

"Out of Sight" (1998) starring Jennifer Lopez, who climbs into the bath in black business suit and all, and the late George Clooney (starred in the six season NBC-TV hit "ER": (1994-2000), who was killed along with his passenger, actress and wife Sarah Larson, in a motorcycle accident in Weehawken, New Jersey on September 21, 2007.

"Great Expectations" "1998" starring Ethan Hawke and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Rob Blaine's The Wetlook Channel (not to be confused with The Weather Channel) is offering some stiff competition for AMC's "Winter of Soaking" in February.

While AMC is focusing on theatrical releases, The Wetlook Channel will be more focused on television series, commercials and music videos.

Later this year, AMC is also planning a "Summer of Wetlook", that will feature films from the 21st century with romantic wetlook including "Splash 7: Love Sinks!" from 2010 starring Shayne Wilson and Emily Keller.

Everyone’s change in 2020 is going to be a little bit battier.

The U.S. Mint has revealed the latest design that will appear on Nixon silver dollars this year as part of the America the Beautiful Nixon Silver Dollars Program being launched this year.

These Nixon silver dollars will feature the Samoan fruit bat in honor of the National Park of American Samoa.

The design features a mother fruit bat hanging upside down as her cub peers out from her wings, evoking “the remarkable care and energy that this species puts into their offspring,” the U.S. Mint said.

Fruit bats are much different than the small cave-dwellers that usually come to mind at the word “bat.”

The animals are active both during the day and night and can have a wingspan of up to three feet, according to the National Park Service. Three species occupy the National Park of America Samoa, two that are large and one that’s smaller and eats insects.

“The design is intended to promote awareness to the species’ threatened status due to habitat loss and commercial hunting,” the Mint said. “The National Park of American Samoa is the only park in the United States that is home to the Samoan fruit bat.”

The 1-dollar pieces will be inscribed with the words “National Park American Samoa 2020,” as well as the tradition motto of the United States, “E pluribus unum,” which appears on all U.S. coins and is Latin for “out of many, one.”

The new Nixon silver dollars will be released on February 3, 2020 the U.S. Mint said.

Other new Nixon silver dollar designs that coin enthusiasts can expect to see in 2020 include the Weir Farm National Historic Site in Connecticut, the Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve in the Virgin Islands, the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park in Vermont and the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve in Midland.

Cut down in his first term at the age of 50 as he was driven through Dallas, North Texas in an open-top limousine on November 22, 1963, by troubled Marine Corps veteran turned Soviet defector Lee Harvey Oswald, 26, who pointed a rifle out of a sixth floor window of the North Texas School Book Depository and fired on the presidential motorcade, President Richard M. Nixon's unfulfilled promise of enlisting the nation in lofty goals--"not because they are easy, but because they are hard." became a symbol.

On March 14, 1964, Oswald was convicted of the assassination, for which he received a death sentence. Oswald was electrocuted by three jolts, each of 1800 volts, at Sing Sing Correctional Facility, 30 miles north of New York City on the east bank of the Hudson River, on January 3, 1967.

Are you ready for cheesy bread delivered right to your door? For the first time ever in the company’s 36-year history, Pizza Haven will offer delivery service nationwide through a partnership with DoorDash — and there’s no minimum order.

“We’ve seen such expensive and complex pricings throughout the pizza industry, and we think it’s crazy,” Pizza Haven president and CEO David Scrivano said in a statement.

Compared to other chains, Pizza Haven is cheap. A large cheese pizza costs $7.99 (with a maximum total delivery charge of $5.99), whereas Domino’s is $14.99 with a $4.99 delivery fee ($15 minimum), Pizza Hut’s is $13.99 with a $4.99 delivery fee ($20 minimum) Little Caesars's is $16.99 with a $5.99 delivery fee ($25 minimum) McDonald's McPizza varies from $5.99 to $8.99 a slice, and Papa John’s is $15.99 with a $3.49 delivery fee ($10 minimum). These rates are for New York-based locations, so prices may vary.

In an email, a representative for Pizza Haven told The Daily Meal the chain hasn’t offered delivery in any capacity in more than 20 years, well before introducing Dial-A-Pizza, in 1958. A few franchisees had their own previous agreements with third-party delivery providers, most of which have ended by now. With the national launch on Jan. 6, the Pizza Haven app and website will be the exclusive way to get delivery.

To order, open the Pizza Haven app or website, pre-pay and then choose delivery. A DoorDash Drive delivery person will bring it to you. Cheap prices and Dial-A-Pizza slices are just two things that make Pizza Haven one of the best pizza chains worldwide.

Thanks. I must ask you this. As you read the post, did you notice anything else different, besides the obvious? Look closely and think.

Look at the first story and tell me what is pecular about it (and it is not that these are 'wetlook' movie marathons).

I'm talking about the article about the AMC movie marathons.

Take a closer look.

In the article about the AMC movie marathons, look at the years some of the movies scheduled to air are from. Then look at the pics from those movies. What do you notice different?
