OMG, that would be such a twist if it was Walter! Gah I never thought of that! The only part that doesn't match up is the Massive Dynamic part. I don't know how Walter could run this major company and have no idea he's doing it. But hmm, very interesting theory.

Isn't that a bit spoilery? I try to avoid anything the writers/producers say about future episodes.

I'm sorry if you felt spoiled, sightofstars. I'm really just speculating about who William Bell could really be.

Shanna -- your concern about Walter not being part of Massive Dynamic is valid. But we've seen how Nina is so in control there. I was thinking that since we now know she knew Walter years ago, she may have known his work and maybe even his dreams and plans for an all-encompassing firm that would help people in all aspects of their lives. Perhaps in the convening 17 years of Walter's absence she actually managed to bring MD along to its current status as enviro-techno-giant on her own somehow while he was (conveniently) incarcerated/hospitalized, all under the guise of being headed by William Bell, who was "never really around", or "out of town", or "unavailable".

Walter doesn't always seem to be aware of his surroundings half the time. He could easily not know who he really is.

I never thought about it being Walter, but that does make the most sense. From that interview, it was confusing, because Orci did imply that we might have already met William Bell, but when the interviewer asked him point blank he said no, lol. It must drive them crazy to have to be so careful talking about the show.

Anyway, I think that's a real possibility, especially after Nina and Peter's conversation.

GAH that's a very very good theory. I really think that could be it.

That makes a lot of sense when you think about it, and could be a twist I see JJ and them going for. Now I'm excited to find out all this William Bell info and see of your theory is true.

Like Sibel, I don't think I would like Walter to be William Bell. Would Peter have meet William Bell since as Nina said he use to spend a lot of time with them when he was a child and probably would have known William Bell if he really thought about it.

From the interview Rosemeade linked they didn't give away a gender of William Bell, so I think it might be Nina. She said she worked with Walter and knows Peter soo....:shrugs:

That's a very interesting theory too! Especially since Walter referred to William Bell as "Belly". That sounds like a lovey-dovey pet name, not something a scientist would call a colleague!!

You know what? Not to put a damper on things this early in Season 1, but considering how we're all agonizing over the characters, plot and predictions, we're not going to be able to handle a May cliffhanger and a summer hiatus very well...
