Here's my theory. Peter and Olivia seem to have a conscious bond between them. What if, and hear me out, what if Peter and Olivia are from the same parallel universe? We know that all people from that universe are slightly different than our universe or that's how I understand it, so like Peter and Olivia could be connected that way.
