I take the subway every day. They usually aren't completely empty - and they so often are in the shows/movies. I can see that an empty one would be creepy, but when you're packed tight with a thousand other commuters, it's just annoying.

No I haven't. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada where the total population of the whole Province is only approx. 500K. No need for subways here. I haven't done much travel to the big cities either.

I was thinking that was a total Walter move -- to be snacking and investigating! My NYC friends all say you can't eat hot dogs or the pretzels from street carts -- just not safe!
