Anna Torv was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia to Susan and Hans Torv and grew up on the Hinterlands of the Gold Coast, Queensland.
She graduated from Benowa State High School in 1996. She graduated from Australia’s National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA)
with a degree in Performing Arts in 2001.
Anna joined the cast of several Australia’s TV shows like The Secret Life Of Us, Young Lions and McLeod Daughters. She also appeared in
the BBC series Mistresses and HBO’s The Pacific. In 2008 she landed the role of FBI Agent Olivia Dunham on Fringe. She received an
Australians in Film Breakthrough award in 2009. She also won the 2010 and 2011 Saturn Award for the Best Television actress.

Canadian-American Joshua Jacksonwas born in Vancouver, Canada. He grew up in California and made his acting debut in 1991,
and he gained prominence when he joined the cast of the Disney film The Mighty Ducks.

Josh became more known, however, for his role of Pacey Witter in the hit drama series Dawson’s Creek. During and after Dawson’s Creek,
he appeared in several films: Scream 2, Cruel Intentions, The Laramie Project, Americano, Aurora Borealis, The Shadow Dancer,
Bobby and Shutter. In 2008 he became Peter Bishop on the series Fringe.
In 2005 he won the Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival Best Actor award for his role in Aurora Borealis
and in 2010 he won a Genie Award for One Week.

Joshua Jackson: I can’t show off my left hand now, because it’s been signed by Anna Torv.
Anna Torv: Unbelievable. He just threw me under the bus.
Jackson: Can’t take her anywhere.
Interviewer: What did you do to him?
Jackson: She marked me.
Torv: It’s just a little bit of pen. He really marked me.
Jackson: That was art! Okay?! This is just random squiggles! - Josh/Anna

It was freezing. It was minus 35° and so windy. Josh keeps laughing ‘cause there’s this scene with the doctor where she comes out
of the prison and he says ‘Excuse me, would you mind coming
back inside with me?’ and I have to say ‘N…why would I wanna do that?’

Josh: Anna gets all the cool Spider-Man stuff. I just do a lot of running. I’m chasing and she’s up on the rooftop
jumping from building to building looking much more badass than me.
Anna: Well, I’m the Agent. That’s fair. [laughs] - Josh/Anna

I think Josh is extremely excited, he gets to hold a gun in this episode and be like the tough guy. - Anna

Kritstin: For people at home, give us just one good reason to watch.
Josh: Anna Torv.
Kristin: Yes Anna, please..
Josh: No, no! Anna Torv, that’s the reason! - Josh

Josh is a wonderful sparring partner [on Fringe]. He has such intense focus, but he's irreverent and fun too.

Anna Torv: I remember a panel ages ago...and I´m quoting you (looks at Josh), you said, and I think it´s such a
beautiful quote, you said "I would rather strive for the best and not quite get there than strive for mediocrity and get..."
Joshua :...and achieve it.
Anna Torv: I think it´s so beautiful...
Joshua: Wow, I had a very insightful moment a couple of years ago! It´s true...
Anna: It´s a beautiful quote. I remember that because it is.

Our writers require us to be always "on book," so there’s no improvisation, we always say what we’ve been given,
but I would play exactly what was on the page, you know, like a good girl.
And then I started to realize this is like a call and response, and you can actually go against what’s been written
and start to shape your character a little bit more. The more I watched John Noble
or Joshua [Jackson], who really started to carve and push their character in a direction they
wanted them to go, that’s when I sort of realized you can do that without
changing the dialogue, and I’ve slowly learned that lesson. - Anna

They freaked out when I had to do some of the driving though, because I’m from Australia
and we drive on the other side of the street. Josh [Joshua Jackson] is a little bit
scared as I’m looking over the wrong shoulder reversing back. - Anna

She Knocks That Out of The Park. - Josh on Anna’s performance in their last scene in Marionette.

It’s really impressive what Anna’s done with that Olivia/BOlivia doppelgänger in the same scene.
Giving all credit to Anna for what she’s done with the versions of Olivia and also the Bell voice,
like super creepy- when she first did that, we were doing the scene and she
arched the eyebrows and I was like ‘I gotta get out of here.’ - Josh
