I don't know. I consider Kelly/Donna best friends in the old series, so it makes sense. But Brenda/Kelly have probably been through more drama that tested their friendship and came out the better for it.

The Kelly/Donna friendship has always been more of a constant. They've always referred to each other as their 'best friend'.

Brenda is one of her best friends but totally on a different level. Kelly and Donna never battled it out for a guy and never had conflict with each other. And her and Brenda have been distant from each other for the past few years.

Even though this would never happen (maybe in fanfic land if someone would want to do it...) but I would totally love to see a flashback to Kelly pregnant and giving birth and having majority of the old crew with her, since we know that Brenda was there for her when she first gave birth to Sammy.

We don't know if she was there for the birth. We know she visited when Sammy was a baby.

A flashback would be a great sotryline IMO, but Sinclair is probably unlikely to do it because she doesn't want to put that much focus on the old cast. Although we can assume it has something to do with Dylan, we don't know why they became distant after Sammy was born. There could be some good material there. Luke would need to return for any such storyline to work, though.

I just kind of got the feeling that they fell out of touch rather than something happened. The way they talked in the pilot, nothing seemed uncomfortable between them; they just hadn't seen each other in a long time.

this was a super boring episode. don't care about donna at all. and why mess with david/donna? so annoying! and the annie/dixon the road trip was lame. also kelly was way too overbearing with silver.

the ethan/liam/naomi stuff was the most interesting part and even that was boring. just seems so random. it was funny to see liam and ethan interact though. liam is just so irritating this season. tries too hard to be bad.
