In June 2012 Showtime announced Yvonne Strahovski had joined the cast for the seventh season of Dexter in which she plays the role of Hannah McKay, a woman involved with an investigation following the death of her former lover, a spree killer whom she accompanied. After uncovering the bodies of a couple Wayne killed, Dexter realizes Hannah’s story isn’t truthful. While on a date, Dexter takes Hannah to a closed Christmas-themed amusement park, where it turns out Dexter has a kill room set up. He prepares to kill Hannah, but cannot go through with it and releases her. They end up having sex in the kill room instead.

When Sal Price, an investigative true-crime writer who has written a book about Wayne Randall, wants to write a sequel about her, she agrees to an interview. She admits to stabbing the woman at the hotel. She poisons Price who later collapses and dies in Dexter's apartment.

Hannah had tried to form a truce with Deb but she declined. She spiked Debra's drinking water causing her to pass out while driving. Dexter later gives Deb evidence to prove Hannah poisoned Price. Debra has Hannah arrested.

Dexter visits Hannah in prison where Hannah admits to spiking Deb's water with Xanax. During Hannah's arraignment on murder charges, Arlene slips Hannah a substance that causes a seizure. Hannah is taken to the hospital and escapes. She is last seen leaving a plant on Dexter's doorstep.

I'm really interested to see what happens next season with Hannah. Is she going to try and get back at Dex and Deb for her being arrested? Seeing as she escaped from the hospital the police will be searching for her, how far is she going to get?

More of a message that she is still out there .
Leaves open, too early to know, for her to make a apperance next season .
Not a matter of storyline but a matter if Yvonne is Available. That is why these type of cable shows. They have a short season, tend to make there casting deals once base story outline is done .

The early focus will Obviously be on Maria murder .
