the opening scene was adorable!! Harrison is way to adorable!! Dexter telling the story... omg! I can't believe he knows about the box. Seriously Quinn...I want to punch you...as usual! I will never understand why Deb would want to be with someone like him...he's a jerk! "Over his dead body" Dexter knowing that Brother Sam is a murderer...Deb as Lieuenant? Clearly a set up for Angel...Matthews wants her to be it so Angel won't have the title. Dexter and Deb moment...aww...love them! Still don't know about Colin Hanks as a villian for this season...I hope he's going to do great! love when Dexter was like "who put that there?" when he ran into the dumpster! Dexter was great at the car place....perfecly calm and everything. Dexter hates Quinn...but really who can blame him? Angel is happy about Deb being Lieuenant? Finally Angel stood up to Maria...so happy! Dexter wanting Brother Sam carry someone out? Crazy! The guy is alive? what? Dexter hitting the guy was so awesome and hot!! Burning is arm? crazy!! Quinn please stop...you are disgusting! Deb would never marry him! Dexter will always be there for his son! MCH shirtless!! omg.... super sexy!! Dex and Deb hug I think Deb will be better than Maria...she's a better cop. Dexter standing up and clapping awww!!! Dexter getting ready to kill the guy....and killing him...awesome! "because monsters don't get to live happily ever after" the bathtub...so adorable! Harrison having a box of his own! love the ending shots....Great Episode! Intense!!

And ahh deb making lieutenant! I felt bad for bautista though but glad he was happy about deb getting the job.

And I Know! MCH shirtless that was great.

I'm really loving this season. Can't wait for next week!

The Dexter and Harrison scenes were great. It was so sweet to see Dexter really interacting with his son. The one moment of "Oh no" I had with their togetherness was when Harrison kept asking for the monster story. Dexter sort of told him in storybook speak the story of "the code". Dexter's code of putting bad people someplace where no one would find them. It was interesting how later on in the episode when Harrison asks again for the monster story, Dexter changes it up to the 3 little pigs but, of course as Dexter mentions to Harrison, there is a big bad wolf in that story too.

I actually thought this episode totally lacked the usual humor that Dexter reveals with his inner thoughts and I missed that. There was just the one quick comment about hitting the trash can but other than that, it was a humorless episode.

Deb seems excited about being the LT in charge but I think in the long run she will miss the action of working in the field. I also wonder if the rest of the department will be concerned about having someone so much younger in charge when clearly Angel should have been the one promoted. Sadly, I think Deb getting the promotion had more to do with Matthews wanting revenge for Maria blackmailing him. It's not to say that Deb wouldn't be good at the job but her skills seem wasted in the office and don't think she has the temperment to deal with some of the mundane parts of her new job.

I agree that they are setting Deb up to fail as LT. It will be interesting to see her in that role tho. I hope they don't cut down on her random cursing.

I felt really bad for Batista in all this and sort of worried for Deb.. I think she knows she's being a pawn and everything and she seems willing to go for it regardless... I'd probably do the same thing in her shoes....

Interesting storyline w/ 'Brother Sam'... look forward to seeing where that one goes...

The Colin Hanks character is already a really interesting one... Very conflicting 'presentations'... From cool and aloof to emotional and submissive... Glad to see Colin again... I've missed him... hated that his 'Good Guys' show got cancelled (I thought it was rather funny) but at least we get to see him on Dexter now

Loved Deb's reaction to Quinn's proposal I guess it was all for the best that seeing as she realised she wasn't that serious about him afterall.

Brother Sam comes into the show in this episode. I quite like the character and how he is a bit of a problem for Dexter. This is a man that has killed in the past, but has changed for the better.

Deb getting the Lieutenant job was a surprise for me the first time around. Probably not exactly plausible in the real world, but seeing as the Chief hates Laguerta, it's understandable he'd hire someone she wasn't happy with.
It was nice of Angel to be so supportive of Deb and at the same time to tell Maria that Deb's a better cop than she is - OUCH!

Travis is a bit of a strange one. I wasn't a big fan of the character through season 6, but I like his scenes with Eddie Olmos

The Dex/Harrison scenes are really adorable, though a little sad that Dex realises he can't be himself around Harry anymore, he's learning already.
