Season 4, Episode 6

Episode Synopsis: Dexter steps up his own investigation into the Trinity Killer case when he realizes the police department is making major headway; Debra's frustration over getting shut out of her own case leads her to make compromising decisions that could impact her job. Elsewhere, Batista and LaGuerta have second thoughts about personal and professional decisions that may affect their jobs and relationship; and Dexter gets romantic advice from an unlikely adviser.

And I agree... interesting seeing the family side of Arthur... but I'm afraid that Dexter is going to let Arthur stick around too long... but I understand he wants to 'learn' from him...

Rita was STILL annoying to me... I was hoping that Dexter would tell her that its hard to trust her b/c she kept the secret of the first marriage... the one before Paul... I loved the scene where the counselor pointed out that she knew what Dexter was like when she married him....

It seems like Dexter is enamored with TK for now so he won't kill him yet. I wasn't that shocked about the reveal of Arthur recreating his families murders since I suspected it a while ago! Still a very good episode though.

Really interesting episode. I like the way that Dexter is learning from Arthur. He finally seems to have found someone that has been dealing with his dark passenger better then Dex ever has. Good to see that he actually took the advice from Arthur and opened up a little, look what it got him

I also liked the scene where he provoked Arthur by opening the urn of his sister. It triggered nicely and let out the true nature of Trinity, so Dexter can be more sure that this kill will be right. Although I wonder if and how he will pull it off. Arthur isn't like his other "clueless" victims, this might be a very tough one, but I'm expecting a killer season finale because of this

I was surprised in the end though that Arthur was starting the ritual again on such short term and so close to home, surely this will wake up the other detectives if this kill is called in or he has to dispose of the body, but how would he explain it to the kids (if they see to live another day

)? I wonder how that will finish.

Glad to see Deb is back on the case of finding out who Harry was sleeping with, and Angel/Maria broke my heart

haha, I know. I was scared for Dexter.

I can't believe Arthur gave Dexter the murder weapon.

And I'm glad Rita and Dexter seemed to reach a compromise even if it's only temporary.

Rita was a lot nicer, and Dexter was being honest. He's going to get too attached to Arthur though, oooh and I nearly thought Arthur was going to kill his wife

He kind of idolizes him because he's been able to keep his family in the dark for so long.

I wish the Quinn drama would just end.

It was really interesting learning more about Trinity. The scene with him going all crazy on Dexter for holding the ashes was intense!

Is it just me, or does anyone else have a feeling that something's gonna happen between Deb and Quinn?

I wondered about that last season, but who knows... Anything seems to be possible on Dexter

The whole cremains-holding scene was freaking me out... I was like 'WHAT is Dexter doing?!!!'

I liked the way Dexter stayed hidden under his "just another guy personality" when Arthur tried to strangle him for holding the urn with the ashes. Dexter knew exactly what he was doing and kept his fighting skills under control. I also wonder if Arthur sees a kindred spirit in Dexter even though he doesn't know who Dexter really is. Like some of you have already mentioned, I hope Dexter doesn't become too full of idol worship for the Trinity Killer but at the same time, it looks like Dexter can learn a few personal things from Arthur by observing his family routine.
