The Platinum Challenge

The facts:

- David's debut album (also known as DCTR [the record] or DC's DC) is on its way to reaching platinum status. So far (by January 12th, 2009) it has sold 842,262 copies, when the platinum mark is at 1,000,000. It's been estimated to go platinum in February.

- At the moment the DC board has 72,451 posts, this one included.

The challenge:

We'll set a goal, say 80,000 posts, that we are going to try to achieve before David gets platinum. Now there's what I call an incentive; can we beat David?

I'm not talking about mindless star posting frenzy. This board of is the home of a bunch of smart Cookies who can make (more or less) interesting, meaningful and substantial posts. And it's not like we don't have anything to talk about. Dave and the BOUH are going to be on Jimmy Kimmel tomorrow night (yay!). The tour dates should be announced anytime now. The tour itself starts in mid-February. Dave has a new, adorable puppy, Dublin (whee, puppies!). The sales and chart position of DC's DC will be published weekly. The boys will travel to Middle East in the end of the month to entertain the troops. Even the new season of American Idol is about to start; will Dave get to perform on the show? So, there is a lot to talk about.

And of course let's not forget all the other fun threads we have. There can never be too much pretty in the pictures thread. Dave is a friendly guy, that's why we have so many friendship/relationship threads.

His fashion sense and body deserve to be appreciated for their own merit too. Does he make your creative juices flow? Why don't post your various kind of artwork in the creative threads. Found an interesting random tidbit of Dave? The DC appreciation thread is the way to go. Or maybe a video? We have a thread for those too! Can't stop listening to DCTR? Tell us which song your listening at the moment! Not to mention numerous game threads which will really make you rack that brain of yours to keep them interesting and on topic.

Or if you want to go off topic, don't worry, The Blank Slate always has its door open!

Please check out the board guide to see the variety of threads on the board, and see which will pique your interest. Maybe you will be the one to resurrect an old gem.

We will keep track of how we're doing in this thread, as well as in the official post count thread. Feel free to post ideas, banners or anything that you think will help us to reach our goal here.

So, who will make it first? Dave (only ~158,000 copies to go) or the

Cookies (only 7,549 posts to go)?
