Well, like David said, we may or may not hear it again.

Just FYI, I am currently working on posts about the last two shows, I haven't forgotten. RL is just severely distracting me.

Hello essay!!
But I liked to read it
I have nothing but love for that video. The intro are just pricless and then the way David just stares at Andy and Andy realizes he«s going to sing... it's all so awesome. I have to say, I love to see David just playing the guitar sometimes, you know? It's cool.
And the harmonies?? heck! Pretty fantastic.
I know, it was a bit of an essay. But there was so much to say about that vid. I think it was everything we love about The Anthemic. Wonderful, talented, extraordinary individuals, all of them. And yeah, it's interesting to watch David to play guitar and sing backup, it reminds me of all the pics of the early days. But I can't help thinking that although it must be a nice change for him, he probably cannot wait to get back to front the band. Oh yeah, the harmonies. He's a natural at those.

Quote:
This was seriously hot. He just kills with this cover. I love what they do with Died In Your Arms, but sometimes MITB is my #1. I guess I can't pick between those two. LOL Seriously seriously sexy performance!
MITB is def. my #1. IJDIYAT is up there in my top 2 or 3 but nothing beats the grittiness and dirty sexiness of MITB.

Quote:
What's the third? But yeah, to me closing with SA is fantastic. ADAM is ADAM, but if they're not doing ADAM, I think SA is the way to go. For everything. The song, the meaning, the lyrics, the guitars, the instrumental part, the fact that is from AH... it's perfect.
IDIFY. Those three are anthemic (heh) and climactic enough to end the show, to keep the energy level high even after it. Pretty much the same reasons for IDIFY too, than you listed for SA. And of course ADAM is special.

Quote:
If Monty leaves I'm going to miss him. I've tried not to get too attached, cause I don't think he'll stay. But he's such a sweet and cool guy, it's hard to "ignore".
I know, me too. I'm not sure he'll stay either, it might be possible he's not allowed too. Or then he'll just want to go back to Phil Marshall's band. But yeah, he's definitely sweet and cool, and brings something unique to the band. We'll see.

Quote:
Thanks Laura for all those videos. You rock as much them
That's so nice of you to say. No problem and thanks.

Ok, I'm gonna try to rock some more and get this finally done so I can do the St. Louis epicness sometime in the near future hopefully. I hate it when my schedules clash.

Have you already collected the links for St Louis? Cause if you haven't started working on it I can post them. I have lots of stuff so it saves you.

IDIFY.
Oh yeah! Sure. I like it too. It's the guitars and all the instruments just playing hard.

Quote:
(BTW, since when has Andy played acoustic guitar on this one?)
I had never noticed that. I've only seen the first video and there's no Andy there, will have to see the rest. But that's cool about teh acoustic guitar. That video was really great btw. David looked great and sounded fantastic. I just looooovvveee that song.

That was fun. I liked Nick's five second And yeah... nice tune there! Also... I think Nick still has to go through the "get pretty" process. The boys have to teach him.

That was really cool! Andy's expression was funny. And all the guys on stage? HOT! lol

Well, obviously I've done stuff now that I'm posting this but you can always post too. It's not my privilege or anything. Sure I like to do things my way and keep it organized but I can't and am not forbidding anyone else either.

I hadn't noticed it either, I think it's a fairly new addition. Or maybe not. You can see Andy in the last two vids. And I really love this song how he does it live now. It's not my fave on the album and earlier on the tour it wasn't something I looked forward to in the set but nowadays I don't even mind watcing multiple videos of it. It's beautiful.

Haha, they could.

He tried to stay serious and unaffected but you could tell he loved it. And yeah, there were a lot of good-looking guys there!

Ok, well I'm gonna do the St. Louis show now, I'm so sorry I'm this late.

St. Louis 11/10:

YouTube - David Cook Saint Louis 11-10-09 Heroes 2 3
Back where it belongs.

YouTube - David Cook - Mr Sensitive - Pageant Theater, St. Louis 2 - with banter

YouTube - David Cook Saint Louis 11-10-09 Banter & I Did It For You 2 - with banter
I love when the crowd sings back at him.

YouTube - David Cook - Kiss on the Neck - Pageant Theater, St. Louis (with banter) 2 3 (with banter) - with Hotel California
Seriously the most adorable banter ever.

YouTube - David Cook Saint Louis, Mo 11-10-09 LIE 2 3 4 5 (sideways) 6
So gorgeous.

YouTube - David Cook Saint Louis, MO 11-10-09 Band Intros & Make Me 2 (with banter) 3
Nice details of Andy's birthday. "I don't care, they had beer and it was awesome!" xD

YouTube - David Cook - Declaration - Pageant Theater, St. Louis - with banter
Gotta love this guy and his tendencies to go among the crowd.

YouTube - David Cook Saint Louis 11-10-09 Ass Grabbing Banter & I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight 2 (with banter) 3 4 (with banter)
"I got like 20 high-fives and like 3 ass-grabs." Of course he has to ask the musical director if he can change the setlist. And the song is rocking awesome!

YouTube - David Cook - Light On - Pageant Theater, St. Louis 2 - with banter
We love this tour too, David.

YouTube - David Cook - Barbasol - Pageant Theater, St. Louis - with banter

YouTube - David Cook Saint Louis, MO 11-10-09 Make Believe (with banter) 2 (with banter) 3 4 (w/banter) 5 (w/banter) 6 (w/banter before & after) 7 8 9 (w/banter) 10 (w/banter before & after) 11 (w/banter) 12 (w/banter) 13 (w/banter) 14 15 (w/banter)
Aw, he's kinda cute when he's nervous. Like I said in the other thread, the intro of the song reminds me of SA. I really like the melody, especially in the middle of the chorus, very creative! And the lyrics are rather angsty, of course. I sure like this surprise, keep them coming, David!

YouTube - David Cook - Come Back to Me - Pageant Theater St. Louis 2 3 - with banter
I just love that when he's talking about all that kissing stuff, he's looking at Andy the whole time. And I wonder how many times Kyle's been fired already. You just don't mess with his Royals. xD (BTW, how cute is Kyle barefoot?) Crowd singalong!

YouTube - David Cook - 1. Opening Banter - The Pageant, St. Louis - So things change.
YouTube - David Cook Saint Louis, Mo 11-10-09 Banter Little Girl Gives David A Rose - This is seriously way too adorable, he's always so good with kids. And the entire banter is pretty awesome, that he asks whether the rose is for him or Neal, gives the girl a guitar pick and why he can't give his guitar, that the rose is "legit" and not from a gas station and telling the dude he did a good job when he answered without hesitation. Love him! (And I kinda get a kick out of his banshee scream. xD)
YouTube - David Cook - 3. Andy's Birthday & Band Intro - The Pageant, St. Louis - Love these boys. xD
YouTube - David Cook Saint Louis 11-10-09 Upper Deck STAND UP & Cheeze Its BANTER - I don't think he was too happy about the reduced fat.
YouTube - David Cook - 5. Balcony Aftermath - The Pageant, St. Louis - Bubba. xD I wonder where that guitar riff was from.
YouTube - David Cook Saint Louis 11-10-09 Proud of Sellout Banter 2 (longer) - "Dave, you didn't have any plans, did ya?"
YouTube - David Cook Saint Louis 11-10-09 Lovin Missouri Banter
YouTube - David Cook Saint Louis 11-10-09 Banter after Make Believe - Because he's adorable and this just cracks me the hell up.

I love the t-shirt David wore (and Neal's badass fingerless gloves) and he just looked so damn happy the whole time. So, awesome show, with the new song and all!

Next one coming soon...ish. xD I WILL catch up with this tewer!

Oh, I know I can post lol But I was thinking, if you already had everything organized an ready to post and you had took time for that, no need for me to post. But whenever you don't have time I can totally do it

Anyway, that St. Louis 11 was really awesome judging by the videos, and great banter moments.

Quote:

I know. And certain songs just ask for that, and I think that's one of them. I love that no matter how many times it happens he always gets a kick out of it.

Quote:

I know! so awesome. When I first read he had do it I thought it was during SA, cause that's when he usually do it. But he gotta change things up

Quote:
"I got like 20 high-fives and like 3 ass-grabs."
"It was FANTASTIC" That was hilarious
Yay for Died In Your Arms. I like LL (i think taht's what it was in the setlist, but Died is more rocking)

Quote:

Yeah, me too. I really love those voice and melody changes in the chorus. that's why i'd love for them to keep working on that song. And he was so nervous, it was cute and funny!

LOL this had to be one of my fav pieces of banter ever! When he said "too much tongue?" I just cracked up

The part with the little girl and the rose was just adorable. I love it when he sees her and just goes "oh oh, oh oh, who is this?". He just knows... cute little girl, there's no way he can not go talk to her.

Really loved everything from this concert.

Yeah, I had it a bit unfinished but I had so many distractions that I couldn't post all day, that's why it took so long. But that is very sweet of you to offer and really, you can do it whenever you want.

They totally do. I love it that more and more songs become one of those, he hasn't "let" the crowd sing this one very often. But it's a great song for it. And it must be such a kick, it makes me happy for him.

Quote:

Haha, me too. But he knows how to keep everyone on their toes and keep it interesting.

Is he saying he loves to be groped? xD Yeah, I saw the setlist and I do love LL a lot, but I think I love DIYAT even more because it's so rocking awesome!

Quote:

I love the changes too, I think it was something pretty new to him, or at least something he hasn't done a lot before. And his nervousness was totally adorable, even after the song when he kept making the thumbs up/thumbs down sign.

Quote:

Definitely an instant classic, and yeah, I don't think there's such thing as too much David Cook's tongue.

Really loved everything from this concert.
I know, so adorable! And the way he bent down to her level and asked her name and everything. Like I said, he's so good with kids, never treats them with nothing but respect. He'll make a great father one day.

And I loved everything from the St. Louis concert too, def. one the great ones!

I guess it's time to move on, I suppose working on this one gave just enough time for all the vids from last night's show to appear, how convenient. xD

Milwaukee 11/11:

YouTube - Heroes in Milwaukee 2

YouTube - Mr. Sensative in Milwaukee 2 (great audio & video)

YouTube - Straight Ahead in Milwaukee (with banter) 2 (with banter in the end) 3 (w/banter, great audio & video, though it skips a bit around the 4min mark)
That's two nights in a row he's talked about kissing, I don't think anyone can handle any more. xD

YouTube - David Cook ~ "Declaration" + bear banter (Milwaukee, 11/11/09) 2 (with banter)
"I want you to notice, you throw your bear and it lands face down on the floor, I throw my bear and it lands sitting up next to the beer. I'm just saying." That's a passionate sports fan for you. xD I've missed that last long "tonight", it's been a while.

YouTube - Lie in Milwaukee (with banter) 2 3 4 (sideways but great audio)
Nothing's worse, David. I think this is the first time he asks the audience to stay silent before the song starts (and still some people...) Beautiful like always.

YouTube - David Cook - Lie, Band Intros, Til' I'm Blue - Milwaukee

YouTube - Til I'm Blue in Milwaukee (with banter) 2 (great audio) 3 4 (view of the whole stage) 5 (great audio & video)
"It's the stupidest but the coolest thing ever." "The man of the hour, I don't know why, but this is your hour." xD

YouTube - Kiss On The Neck in Milwaukee (with banter) 2 3 (great audio & video) - with Hotel California
"Supposedly not wearing your shoes tied is like the big thing." Awesome performance!

YouTube - Hot For Teacher in Milwaukee (with banter) 2 3
"I think everybody knows like one of the great things about education is really the teachers, specifically the really hot ones." Well, this one was hot for sure, damn! Oh and there it is, pensive!Cook.

YouTube - Barbasol in Milwaukee (with banter) 2 (great audio and video)

YouTube - Light On in Milwaukee (with banter) 2 (partial but so pretty)
Cookmann

YouTube - I Did It For You in Milwaukee 2 (with banter in the end) 3 (great audio & video) 4
David shakes hands with a man in the balcony @ 3:35/3:19/3:13.

YouTube - Come Back To Me in Milwaukee (with banter) 2 (great audio and video)

YouTube - DAVID COOK -SPORTS FAN Milwaukee 11-11-09 - "Sir, relax." xD
YouTube - DAVID COOK - BANTER before KOTN Milwaukee 11-11-09 - I like those boots too.
YouTube - David Cook ~ Chris Cornell banter before "Light On" (Milwaukee, 11/11/09) - This is still a great story and it must be one of those pinch me moments to him.

Another show done, it was awesome as usual! Even with less scruff.

A couple more from St. Louis 11/10:

YouTube - David Cook, Make Believe - St Louis 11-10-09
YouTube - David Cook - Make Believe and pre and post song banter - Edited version of the user's original video with banter. The song and all the banter from this user were already here.

Also these have good audio:
YouTube - David Cook Lie 11 10 09
YouTube - David Cook Light On 11 10 009

And this wasn't here yet, Houston 11/7:

YouTube - David Cook-Light On-Warehouse Live Houston,Texas

(Added these to the original posts too.)

Ok, one more show to go and then I'm all caught up with everything.

Friant 11/12:

YouTube - David Cook and the Anthemic, Heroes, Friant CA, 11-12-09 2
He looks soooo good.

YouTube - David Cook - Mr Sensitive (Friant)

YouTube - I Did It For You, David Cook and the Anthemic, Friant CA, 11-12-09 2 (with banter) 3
Love love love the little acapella part in the middle, and the entire song of course. Corporate bossy Dave says: "If the chair puts up a fight, slap it." xD

YouTube - David Cook - Straight Ahead (Friant) (with banter) 2 3 (with banter) 4
"Band guys" But seriously, so sweet. These guys really are a huge part of David's history and although we know it, hearing him say exactly what their input into AH was is pretty awesome. "Kyle, you play drums real good, ok? So, keep it up." David goes to walk in the audience again! Awesome performance, love this song!

YouTube - David Cook and the Anthemic, Declaration, Friant CA, 11-12-09 2 (with banter)
"No boogers on the face." xD These three songs in a row and I'm giddy just from watching the vids. Love this one!

YouTube - David Cook - Lie (Friant) (with banter) 2 (with banter) 3 4 5
I don't think he's ever talked this long about this song. But I loved hearing it. Beautiful performance as always.

YouTube - David Cook - Kiss on the Neck (Friant) (with banter) 2 - with Hotel California

YouTube - David Cook and the Anthemic, I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight, Friant CA, 11-12-09 2 (with banter) 3 4
Haha, sometimes, on a very rare occasion, Neal just can't help the presh.

YouTube - David Cook - Light On (Friant) 2 - with banter
"So I told this story last night but I figured we're far enough where I can probably tell it again." xD "Pity me, pity me." "No pun intended, one of my idols." I love how the story gets more elaborate each time.

YouTube - David Cook - Barbasol (Friant) 2 3
"This next song is just about love." Since when?

YouTube - David Cook and the Anthemic, Come Back to Me, Friant, 11-12-09 2 (with banter) 3 4
Haha, great new rimshot, guys. Seriously, really love it when the crowd sings back at him. Love him.

YouTube - David Cook - Banter..."If the Chair puts up a Fight ... Slap It!" Friant 11-12-09 - It's been a while since he encouraged a conversation with chairs.
YouTube - David Cook w/Chris Cornell "Banter" before Light On, Friant, CA @Table Mountain Casino11.12.09 - Because it's a really great story!

Excellent videos from this concert! I really liked this one, pretty awesome (though a bit shortish, 11 songs). What a solid performer, this guy.

Also, here's a nice vid from Milwaukee 11/11:

YouTube - David Cook sings Come Back To Me @ Riverside Theater in Milwaukee, WI on 11/11/2009

And from St. Louis 11/10:

YouTube - David Cook and the Anthemic - Make Me (11.10.09 St. Louis, MO)
YouTube - David Cook Died In Your Arms 11 10 09 - Haha, Andy had to change his guitar.

YouTube - David Cook - Caesars WIndsor - Banter - He wants 5,000 people to be as loud as they can. I think. I wish I could hear him... better.
YouTube - David Cook - Caesars WIndsor - Banter - Oh bb, you've ruined a lot of lives, in a good way.

The supply of videos from this show was not as pleasing as the previous show, both quantity and quality wise. But the setlist was nice and longish (13 songs)! Hopefully more (and better) vids will show up, especially Declaration because reportedly David went into the audience again and almost didn't find his way back. Bring on the next show!

Here are some really good videos from Friant 11/12:

YouTube - David Cook - Straight Ahead @ Friant 11/12/09
YouTube - David Cook - Lie @ Friant 11/12/09
YouTube - David Cook - Light On @ Friant 11/12/09 with banter
YouTube - David Cook - Come Back To Me @ Friant 11/12/09

And from Milwaukee 11/11:

YouTube - DAVID COOK - MR SENSITIVE Milwaukee 11-11-09
YouTube - DAVID COOK - STRAIGHT AHEAD Milwaukee 11-11-09
YouTube - DAVID COOK - TIL I'M BLUE Milwaukee 11-11-09
YouTube - DAVID COOK - I DID IT FOR YOU , MILWAUKEE 11 11 09 2

And from St. Louis 11/10:

YouTube - David Cook Kiss On The Neck 11 10 09
YouTube - David Cook Come Back To Me 11 10 09

(Adding to the original posts too.)

I still need to watch these all.

Orillia 11/16:

YouTube - Mr Sensitive (bad audio and video) 2a & b (partial but SO much better audio and video)
I really love when he's guitarless on this one.

YouTube - David Cook - Heroes - 11.16.09 - Casino Rama
How hot does David look in that outfit? (And yes, Neal too. )

YouTube - David Cook "We're Only Honest When We're Sleeping" @ Casino Rama Orillia 11/16/09 (partial, the 1st verse and chorus are missing) 2 (the whole song) 3 (bad audio but good video)
Oh, it was an NRJ t-shirt, now I get it.

YouTube - Souvenir (bad audio but great video again)
This and Honest at the same show, back to back even? Awesome! Love the gesture @ ~2:07.

YouTube - KOTN Orillia 11 16 09 2 (just Hotel California and the banter about it but the audio is much clearer)
Has he ever actually talked about HC before? Pretty cool.

YouTube - David Cook Lie 11 16 09 Casino Rama 2 3 4 5 (bad audio but rather pretty video)
Wow, that's a first during the acapella part, way to go Cook! Absolutely beautiful.

YouTube - David Cook - Bar-Ba-Sol Casino Rama 11/16/09 2 (Neal-centric) 3

YouTube - David Cook "Make Believe" @ Casino Rama Orillia 2 (non-existent video but GREAT audio) 3 4 5 6 (with banter)
Really loving this one the more I listen to it! Damn that chorus is catchy!

YouTube - David Cook - Hot For Teacher - 11.16.09 - Casino Rama 2 (dreadful audio so turn off the sound and enjoy the visuals)
HOTNESS.

YouTube - David Cook - Come Back To Me Casino Rama 11/16/09

YouTube - David Cook Light On 11 16 09 Casino Rama (partial but pretty)
He's so cute and he sings "THE tricky part" for the first time in, like, FOREVER.

YouTube - David Cook I Did It For You 2 (with banter, slightly partial, continues here) 3
Aw bb, we totally love your massive skull. Another thing I love is this song! Neal's guitar during the last minute is THE awesomeness! Gosh, I need to hear this live! Also, BB IS SUCH A ROCKSTAR. This man has charisma and showmanship in spades. Love him.

YouTube - Dumbfolded Banter? - David Cook Casino Rama Nov 16, 2009
YouTube - David Cook Chair Banter 11 16 09 Casino Rama 2 (longer) - "60 % of the audience is totally on board, Kyle, the other 40 % is like 'but I really wanna sit down.' So, our goal for the rest of the night, Kyle, is to get 40 % to wanna stand up, can we do this?"
YouTube - Andy Skib playing Celine Dion Orillia 11 16 09 2 (longer) 3 (with full band intros) - How DO they all know this song, hmm?
YouTube - David Cook Massive Skull Banter Casino Rama 11 16 09 - "Five years from now you guys are gonna be like 'hey remember that time we went to that show and that singer's head was just massive?'"

Great show again, loved the setlist and the banter! If my memory serves me correctly, the turnout from these Canada shows was not as good as last time, but I don't care because I AM READY FOR THE ANNIVERSARY SHOW!

In the meantime, another great video from Milwaukee 11/11:
YouTube - DAVID COOK - KOTN Milwaukee 11-11-09

And from Dallas 11/8:
YouTube - David Cook Come Back To Me

And from Shawnee 11/6:
YouTube - Man In The Box- David Cook

You know the drill.

Just an FYI if anyone's wondering (it's possible...), working on the Hammond post right now, but the setlist was insanely long hence the amount of videos is insane so it's gonna take a while.

I dunno why I felt the need to post this. I'll delete once the post is done.

Ahhh so epic he played the whole record by order!! Plus Make Believe and Straight Ahead, and Shattered Dreams! Damn, that was a heck of concert.
I've seen a few videos and he sounded amazing. Acoustic Life On The Moon is to die for. Also love to see just him and the guitar on Avalanche.
And Permanent??! That was beautiful.

Just to kick it, here is a Declaration video, the first one of the night

EPICNESS TO THE NTH DEGREE!

In case you haven't heard or seen my flailing in the album thread or whatever , last night's DCTR one year anniversary show was pretty much the best/most epic show ever! The guys played the whole record from start to finish in order plus a kickass encore. The setlist was the following:

Declaration
Heroes
Light On
Come Back To Me
Life On The Moon (acoustic)
Bar-Ba-Sol
Mr. Sensitive
Lie
I Did It For You
Avalanche
Permanent
A Daily AntheM
Kiss On The Neck (with Hotel California)
Shattered Dreams
Make Believe
Straight Ahead

16 SONGS! And the videos seem to be numerous and rather good, yay!

Hammond 11/18:

YouTube - David Cook - DECLARATION - November 18, 2009 - The Venue, Hammond, Indiana 2 - with banter
"It's starts like this." Ahh, I'm all giddy just from watching this video a day later it happened. Awesome, awesome performance and so weird but amazing to hear this song first in the set. I'm totally looking for Heroes or Mr. S vids first by instinct. xD

YouTube - David Cook - HEROES - November 18, 2009 - The Venue, Hammond, Indiana 2 3 - with banter
How could anyone NOT have a good time at a show like this? Powerful performance and let me take a moment to say that he looks damn fine in that outfit. Sexy beast indeed.

YouTube - David Cook -LIGHT ON - November 18, 2009 - The Venue, Hammond, Indiana 2 3 - with banter
WHY SO PRESH KYLE? Yay for these guys for taking this record and making it even better! And it is a bit weird to hear this (and CBTM) this early in the set too. The first single is always the first single and as such special, but I am pretty sure that we got the best for last at this show.

Banter + Light On & Come Back To Me

YouTube - David Cook, Come Back To Me, Hammond.MP4 (excellent quality, sideways) 2 3
Lovely transition from LO to this and such a lovely performance. I do love you CBTM, I do.

YouTube - David Cook, Acoustic Life on the Moon, Hammond.MP4 (excellent quality, sideways) 2 (with banter) 3 (with banter) 4 5 6 (w/banter) 7 (w/banter) 8 (w/banter) 9 10
Seriously the most beautiful version of this song I've ever heard. Love him playing his acoustic guitar and just singing from his heart. His vocals are impeccable, and I love that brief change to the melody. Amazing.

YouTube - David Cook - BARBASOL - November 18, 2009 - The Venue, Hammond, Indiana - with banter
The chair banter keeps getting more hilarious. Still the hottest song on the record and the performances are often accordingly, just think of all the good stuff this has given us.

YouTube - David Cook - MR SENSITIVE - November 18, 2009 - The Venue, Hammond, Indiana (with banter) 2 (with banter) 3 4 (with banter)
I always love when he talks about his songs and I don't remember him talking about this one in particular this much before. And really about the whole thought and writing process behind this record, and of course writing with Raine Maida which must have been so amazing for him (the 2nd vid includes the whole banter). Also, "Every one of these songs on this record is a kid and I love all my children. But if I had to pick a favorite child, this one would be it." Kinda surprising. I'm really digging this one live, especially after they added the 4th beat after the last "Mr. Sensitive".

YouTube - David Cook, Lie, Hammond.MP4 (excellent quality) 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
"David Cook!" "Yes?" xD The new trick to get the attention of the audience seems to be working pretty well, although it would have been great if this had been one of those fortunate times when the audience gets it. Anyway, this is definitely one of the songs, or actually THE song where the live performance has made a huge difference to me. Can't help but to love the raw emotion David puts into this song every time and the absolutely beautiful arrangement. This performance is nothing short of gorgeous either.

YouTube - David Cook - I Did it For You - Hammond, Indiana 2 - with banter
Great Irish accent impression, Dave. "He's like 'don't you dare put me in the spot, don't you do that.'" xD This song is the one, along with Lie, that has been transformed the most in the course of the tour. I've loved it from the beginning but through live performances the song has become a masterpiece, I'll say it like it is. Adding the over minute long jamming to the end is just musical fireworks with guitars and the instrumental middle part gives the best opportunities for David to bask in the love of the crowd when the band does the AWESOME guitar/drums thing, you know the one. I love love love and adore this song! ETA: Now that we have a full video of this particular performance: The best instrumental middle part (yeah, I don't know what else to call it, break down? xD) ever! And the end is just pure LOVE. I am just so glad that this song has been given the chance to shine and it's getting the love it deserves! Highlight of the set every freaking time.

YouTube - David Cook, Avalanche, Hammond .MP4 (excellent audio) 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10
STUNNING. It's not enough that this is the best love song he's ever written and one of the best songs on the record, he has to go and turn it into this masterpiece. Love that he plays just his electric guitar! His voice is beautiful, powerful, haunting and moves me to the core. PERFECT vocals, PERFECT performance. Sublime!

YouTube - David Cook, Permanent, Hammond (excellent quality) 2 (with banter) 3 4 (w/banter) 5 (w/banter) 6 (w/banter) 7 8 9 10 11 12 (w/banter) 13
Whenever he finds the strength to perform this song live, I have such deep admiration for him. This performance is so poignant and vulnerable, you can see the pain on his face and hear it in his voice. This is also musically gorgeous, love the added glory note. I am moved to (a stream of) tears. Such a beautiful song, such an amazing man.

YouTube - David Cook - A DAILY ANTHEM - November 18, 2009 - The Venue, Hammond, Indiana 2 3 4 5
Just like on the record, this is exactly what I need after Permanent! Although now I'm crying for an entirely different reason (ok, I've been crying since Avalanche xD). This song means so much on this record and in his career, and it's just amazing and I love it. Again, amazing vocals, he was really pouring his heart and soul into these songs.

YouTube - David Cook - KISS ON THE NECK - November 18, 2009 - The Venue, Hammond, Indiana 2 3 4 (w/banter) 5 (w/banter) - with Hotel California
Kinda love how they've taken this already a hot song on the record to the next level, with more everything, the moan, the whisper/glory note and the brilliant addition of HC, making this definitely one of the hottest numbers in the set every time. Awesome! Check out Kyle in the 2nd vid!

YouTube - David Cook - SHATTERED DREAMS - November 18, 2009 - The Venue, Hammond, Indiana 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 - with banter (except the last video)
WTF!Cook strikes again! I think this is only the 3rd time they've done this song but I'm glad because it totally rocks! David's got mad stage presence on this one. And I'm loving the longer set too!

YouTube - David Cook, Make Believe, Hammond.MP4 (excellent quality) 2 (with banter) 3 (with banter) 4 5 6 (w/banter) 7 (w/banter) 8 9
What an apt song for the occasion! This was a celebration of DCTR and an amazing year, and soon it will be time to look forward to the future and hopefully even more awesome things. And if this song is anything to go by, I'm pretty sure that's what's ahead. Love this!

YouTube - David Cook - STRAIGHT AHEAD - November 18, 2009 - The Venue, Hammond, Indiana (with banter) 2 (with banter) 3 4 (partial but excellent quality, the very end here)
With this one everything about David's music was covered, past, present and future! But still it's always about progression, straight ahead, onwards and upwards. "Could you play me something new?" & "We'll see you guys in one year's time!" Aww, I'm getting all emotional here. And wow, what an impressive show closer! A perfect song for that, the walkabout in the audience and exiting through the backdoors instead of returning to the stage. What was I saying about charisma and showmanship just the other day? In effing spades.

YouTube - David Cook - Banter before Barbasol (Stare at the Chair!) - Hammond, IN - 11/18/09 2 (without still pics)

AMAZING SHOW! Absolutely the perfect way to celebrate the anniversary of DCTR. David was in top form, he sounded fantastic and looked gorgeous. And the band was on fire! I loved to hearing/watching all these songs from the album in track order, just like the first time I listened to it a year ago. And it was like listening to a live album! It's probably the closest we'll ever get to that but at least we'll always have these tubies... D:

Haha, well I'm probably gonna watch the whole thing again at some point, after the tour is over *gasp*, maybe earlier to really get continuity. This one is definitely worth rewatching!

I'm pretty sure this post will be under construction until it's completed and perfected, because if there's one show that deserves that, it's this one. I also feel I should apologize for the obnoxious length of my comments/this entire post but nah, I don't think I'm gonna. xD

Happy Anniversary DC & TA, I love you!
