Why it is weird? They are both bold with their tongues. Everyone is but especially they are. Would you be ok to be used, especially as a last resort? Nate didn't even care she would have been pregnant, Chuck on the other hand cared. He is in love and she uses him. Chuck is not a lapdog. You might like lapdog male characters, I really don't. Later Chuck apologizes for saying those words and admits it was even much for him to say those words, in 1x18. So nothing ends in sad-angsty scenes. Personally I love their angsty scenes.

Those photos are both Season 3. 3x14 SN, 3x18 CB. CB's scene is sadder imo.
