I fully understand where you're coming from. And at this point, its really pissing me off too because it makes Nate look like a complete dumbhead, player, manwhore, maybe *******. And that's so not how he really is.
I just hope there is a good reason for all of this, because I really really do like NJ together. Their friendship is awesome (imo) and they do have chemistry. I guess I'm one of the few who dont care about age..they knew that it could happen (Tay & Chace) since it was part of the books and they're being paid for it..and I doubt it would happen if either of them really wouldnt want to do this.

I'm really open minded about couples in general, as in I give them a shot and watch them fairly, but NJ is one that I never could, I'm not exactly sure why. But I do agree, if any time- season 1 would've been the best. Now esp. with Jenny being such good friends with Vanessa and all... and Nate dating everyone it would just be weird.

Exactly what I feel too. I love all the other N hook-ups and that shows that I'm not saying I hate NJ because I'm an NS fan. There's just something really off in NJ for me. I loved their friendship scenes and I was hoping to see the show approach them more as Jenny looking at Nate more as a big brother away from Dan. He does genuinely seem to care for him as a friend and that was why I had such a high respect for Nate's character because he had nothing to do with her and she had nothing to do with him. Now NJ hooking up would make it seem like Nate was nothing but a manwhore interested in Jenny because he sees her as a sexual object if not that he sees every girl he encounters as a sexual object. NOOOOOOOO!

I wouldn't have minded NJ in the FIRST season. Right now, especially after everything that Nate has gone through with girls, NJ makes NO sense.

I'm really hoping that by the end of the episode that the two of them laugh about it. Like no awkwardness...a one time thing PLEASE.

There was this long ass interview with Josh Schwartz about the show (found it on the spoilers thread) but it only mentioned Nate in ONE thing:

I don't get it. Nate in the books is awesome. Nate in the show started off great but is now a big man whore. And now they want him to be the POOR manwhore? Jeez. way to kill a character!!

He's going to end up alone first of all, then to top it off living in Brooklyn or something. That's Josh's plan, based on what we've seen so far.
