Edward Cullen| Edward was born on June 20, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois.

Though he mentioned that he doesn't remember it very well, he grew up in an old-fashioned family life style.
Edward wanted to enlist in the army during World War One while he was growing up,
with the only thing keeping him away was his age and his love for his mother.
That changed, however, when he and his parents became sick from the Spanish Influenza in 1918.
His father, Edward Masen Sr., died in the first wave of the influenza.
Before she died, Edward's mother, Elizabeth Masen, begged the doctor who was taking care of them, Dr. Carlisle Cullen,
to do everything within his power to save her son (Elizabeth: "You must do everything in your power. What others cannot do, that is what you must do for my Edward.")
Carlisle acted on her wishes when Edward was near death himself.
After Elizabeth died, Carlisle took Edward from the hospital, brought him to his house, and there changed him into a vampire.

Edward had a rebellious period at the beginning of his vampire life and left Carlisle and Esme in 1928. During his lone time, he used his mind reading ability to attack the worst people of society, thinking that, as long as he was serving justice, it would not matter that he was feeding on humans. A few years later, he regretted this decision and returned to Carlisle's way of life of drinking animal blood, rather than human. Over the next 80 to 90 years, additional vampires were created by Carlisle as a last resort for a select few nearly dead or left-for-dead individuals, who then became part of the Cullen family, known to vampires as a coven.

Edward was into depression for awhile, it did not go unnoticed by his family members. Everyone had a love someone to keep them guarded you may say. Carlisle had Esme, Jasper had Alice and Rosalie had Emmett and for over 100 years it was just him alone. Never really found that special attraction to anyone - that was until 2006 where he met Bella Swan. The love of his life, his soul mate. The one he waited a century for.

Robert Douglas Thomas Pattinson the beautiful actor who is best known for his role as the
mysterious, beautiful dangerous vampire Edward Anthony Cullen Masen. Rob is the English actor, model, musician and producer.
Born and raised in London (born 13 May 1986). His mother, Clare, worked for a modelling agency,
and his father, Richard, imported vintage cars from the U.S. Pattinson has two elder sisters,
singer Lizzy Pattinson, and Victoria Pattinson. Growing up in the Barnes suburb of London,
he attended Tower House School until he was 12. Pattinson began modelling when he was twelve years old,
but the number of jobs began to decrease only four years later. In December 2008 he blamed
the lack of work as a model on his masculine appearance:
"When I first started I was quite tall and looked like a girl, so I got lots of jobs, because it was during that period where the androgynous look was cool. Then, I guess, I became too much of a guy, so I never got any more jobs. I had the most unsuccessful modelling career."

Pattinson started out his career by playing the role of Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Later, he landed the leading role of Edward Cullen in the film adaptations of the Twilight novels by Stephenie Meyer,
and came to worldwide international fame. Pattinson was ranked as one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood based on 2009 earnings. In 2010, Pattinson was named one of Time magazine's
100 Most Influential People in The World, and also in the same year Forbes ranked him
as one of the most powerful celebrities in the world in the Celebrity 100.

I remember reading online how some view Edward as being controlling? Do you? I never saw him controlling. I don't want to bring Bella up too much in this thread because this is all about Edward but to make my point about the controlling issue...if he was that controlling he would never have allowed Bella to be with Jacob as much as she was. His concern over her safety was more like it and it was the issue that it was because of who he was. His world is very dangerous.

I never saw him that way ever. But there are those aren't into the we'll die without each other love so they nitpick at the characters and try to find flaws. I've never seen it that if anyone is controlling it's Jacob not Edward.
