and now ATWT is getting Stuart Damon??? it's sort of surreal...will all those who were once on GH/Port Charles all end up on this show?

ATWT Casting News!
Soap Opera Digest has learned that Stuart Damon (Alan, GH) is reportedly joining the cast of ATWT in a new role. He joins fellow GH/PC pals Jon Lindstrom (Craig), Julie Pinson (Janet), Lynn Herring (Audrey) and Marie Wilson (Meg). Since the show is so far ahead with their taping schedule, look for the actor to debut sometime around September.

Michael Fairman is apparently producing the GL tribute for the Emmy's on August 30th. Sounds like it'll be pretty good. He's a real soapfan, not a producer, so I think it has alot of potential.

Daytime Emmys and the Guiding Light Tribute

I am taking this opportunity to tell Advocate.com soap fans and readers that I am now on the production team for this year’s Daytime Emmy Telecast, to be aired August 30 on the CW. My big news is that I will be producing the Guiding Light tribute package that will be one of the centerpieces of the show. And while I am currently culling through reels of footage from the shows 57 years on broadcast television, rest assured, I will not forget about Otalia! We have a big emotional moment in the works for this segment of the show. I can tell you that the following will be making their way to Los Angeles to take part in Guiding Light’s last Daytime Emmys and to be a part of this tribute: Grant Aleksander, Murray Bartlett, Jeff Branson, Robert Bogue, E.J. Bonilla, Mandy Bruno, Orlagh Cassidy, Beth Chamberlin, Crystal Chappell, Jordan Clarke, Bradley Cole, Zack Conroy, Daniel Cosgrove, Bonnie Dennison, Frank Dicopoulos, Marj Dusay, Elizabeth Keifer, Maeve Kinkead, Jessica Leccia, Kurt McKinney, Karla Mosley, Robert Newman, Michael O'Leary, Ron Raines, Marcy Rylan, Tina Sloan, Lawrence Saint-Victor, Gina Tognoni, Caitlin Van Zandt, Yvonna Kopacz Wright, and Kim Zimmer!

As always I read SOW in line at the grocery stores. There was an article about a segment they will show during the Daytime Emmy show, it will feature Anthony Geary, Kelly Monaco and Susan Lucci who all went to Africa to participate in Feed the Children documentary. We will get to see some of the footage, and they are using some of it for a storyline that Erica has going on right now??? on AMC. The Emmy's should be this weekend....Cassandra above states the 30th.

Yep, looks like CW might actually be giving the Emmy's a chance this year. Wouldn't it be interesting if they're actually a better show when not on one of the major 3 networks?

That would be awesome. They are still doing the montages for best shows, right? I LOVE those. And i especially want them since DOOL is nominated.

I'm pretty sure they are. Seems like the producers for this year aren't so network oriented, so I think that'll make things more fair all around. It always seems as though whichever network it lands on, they skewer more towards their lineup. That can't really happen this go around.

Looks like GL's cancellation started a snowball effect.

Quote:
We Love Soaps Roger Newcomb is reporting that As The World Turns, Procter and Gamble's lone soap opera in production has been cancelled! According to Newcomb, the soap will cease production in June and last air in Sept. 2010. Damn. Just damn.

This is Breaking News to shout out about!

Nichols Joins Y&R
Stephen Nichols (ex-Steve, DAYS) has taken over the role of Y&R's Tucker McCall from William Russ, according to tvguidemagazine.com. Reportedly, Nichols starts work on Dec. 17 and will first air on Jan. 27. Co-exec producer/head writer Maria Arena Bel l said in a statement, "William Russ is a talented actor and we enjoyed working with him. However, we decided to take the character in another direction." Co-executive producer Paul Rauch added, "[Russ] did a wonderful job while he was here."

I've loved Stephen when he was Stephan Cassidine.
