I'll always wonder what would've happened if Stone didn't die but it was a huge moment for them.

Remember when Stone returned in Robin's head in 2010? And Robin still talked to Stone as he was the love of her life and Stone had to tell her to not live in the past.

Stone is the love her life and I think that she was honest with him about that and I think that Patrick knew he could never measure up. I think that if Stone had lived that he would have gone back to school and so pleased to watch Robin become a doctor. Stone was never bothered at all by Robin's intelligence and that they would have been great parents. Michael deserved an Emmy for his work and I was glad that Kimberly won an Emmy for this storyline.

^ Agree, I am still upset Michael didn't get an Emmy for his performance. One of the most heartbreaking moments was when he said, "I see you." before he died.
