Sadly the episode after the kiss, the next 2 episodes got a series low. 4.0 million in total viewers....
So, I'm very happy it jumped back up this week.

Thus far Y&R (#1 US Soap) hasn't ever dipped down to under 4.0 million total viewers however, under Sally's leadership and bad recycled living in the past 70s storyline feels, it happened in OVER 10 instances and the demos is at an ALL-TIME low, averaging 0.84 which is unheard of for Y&R.

That's crazy, but I can understand it. If they put a huge amount of focus on one character and have meandering storylines, people are just gonna get burned out and bored of it all.

On the other hand, people also get turned off by ridiculous storylines, so you can't go too crazy; it's all about finding a balance and some people don't have what it takes.

Mal Young apparently said at the YR Fan Event last weekend that Teriah is full steam ahead and that he really is dedicated to it and hopes the viewers give it a chance. He said he thinks fans will be very happy with it.

Also, one of my good friends is older (and British) and she told me she watched Mal's stuff on Eastenders and Holby City and he "loves the gays".

She said he was responsible for the groundbreaking Beth Jordache story on the show Brookside (interestingly the part was played by Anna Friel!) so she thinks Teriah have a great shot at being a really good storyline.

^ Yeah I know, and I know you pretty much are just watching Y&R for the first time but this show is at the worst state than it's ever been and it hurts because it's my favorite Soap.

I think the worst of it all is that I KNEW it was going to be worst as soon as Sally Sussman joined since she was set in her ways and wasn't willing to change and move on from a past that many people did. She wasn't opened to new things, characters and pairings.

And she just brought in a lot of new characters that fans couldn't identify with.
I mean even the actors didn't seem all that happy with the material there by the acting I saw displayed.

Even when something major happened, I didn't feel the intensity or anything because the writing was so slow paced, boring and just nothing.

So, I'm happy that Mariah/Tessa has at least made things interesting. And that Sally did one main good thing on her deserving way out (including anything involved with Sharon's character as well)

No shock about Mal, I always liked his worked since he's been a part of Y&R, so happy he's in charge.

This sounds like the later years of PLL to me. I know exactly what you mean.

^ Yes, keep keeping me informed by the developments of everything with them! I love that the slow burn is sounding great for them!

And yeah, we all hate when our shows go downhill.
But luckily with Soaps unlike a lot of tv series, the showrunners can change quickly. lol

I feel when it comes to Soaps in this day and age, you can't have patience because there are only 4 US soaps standing. So these networks don't mind cancelling them.
So thankfully for Y&R making a quick decision but also happy that it's not a FULL revamp, and that Mal is staying on board. So, the change won't be drastic, just probably a lot better.

I love people who can diverse things up and treat all the characters equally and Sally Sassman did NOT do that. She tried to pretend the past 10 years didn't happen,
care about 3 characters and move on to the stories she loved.

THANKFul for Mariah/Tessa though. That is her greatest accomplishment in the few months of almost destroying the show.

Do you like the "Teriah" as the ship name? lol

I think the only upsetting thing is that I doubt Mariah/Devon and Noah/Tessa are really breaking up anytime soon for the drama purposes.

^ I agree, they'll draw those relationships out as long as they can manage for the drama. But I still think Mariah/Devon will split first because they already have a third person invovled in the relationship.

And from what I've seen, Teriah seems to be catching as the most popular ship name, so I'm gonna stick with that.

Agreed. Mariah and Devon are together but they're really in love with other people, so it makes for a more amicable split. Though I hope there's not TOO too much drama, because sometimes that's boring as well. A nice balance, please and thanks.

OK I've only just started watching their clips so I'm obviously way behind, but damn even from the 4 clips I've watched, this is a ship I'm going down with

Like from the first scene they have together there's just something about them that has me hooked.

You know I can't resist

Like I hate you getting me into another soap ship, because this always ends badly for me, but I don't have to work with crappy captions/waiting 2 hours for someone to upload with correct subtitles. Plus they're soooo damn cute. Like the way Mariah looks at Tessa, and was the one who convinced her to stay in town? How am I not supposed to ship it?!
