Kelly Monaco, Emmy nominated actress, starred in Port Charles as Livvie Locke and Tess Ramsey before taking up her role as Sam McCall on General Hospital. In 2005, she won the first season of Dancing With The Stars. She was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 2003 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Dama Series for her work on Port Charles and again in 2006 for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her work on General Hospital.

Sam McCall was a con artist for most of her life and rarely stayed in one place. A short romance with Jasper "Jax" Jacks brought her to Port Charles, where she eventually found her birth mother, Alexis Davis. A fling with Sonny Corinthos, Port Charles' resident mob boss, left Sam pregnant and alone, until Sonny's best friend and mob enforcer, Jason Morgan offered to take care of her and her baby. When the baby was stillborn, Jason and Sam managed to help each other through their grief and along the lines, they fell in love. After being engaged for three years, they went through a messy break up, leaving Sam to seek revenge against Jason. Enter Detective Lucky Spencer. A relationship that started out of revenge soon turned into so much more when the two fell in love. During her time with Lucky, Sam discovered who she was, and that she loved danger and adrenaline. Sam realized that her love of danger and bending the rules did not mesh well with Lucky's love of the law and desire for domesticity. They split amicably, and Sam focused her energies on starting a new PI business. Sam and Jason began to reconnect and eventually reignited their relationship and re-declared their love.

I don't know who said it, I've heard it several times on different boards, sites, and fan gifs. And I thought it fit Sam so well, she doesn't need anyone, but she's happy to share her life with people.

Oh I agree, she's one of my favorite characters because she's allowed to be human.

I think that's exactly why Sam is so well liked because she is so human. She makes mistakes and is flawed but she's also totally badass while having a heart of gold.

That's what I love too, she's both flawed and virtuous. She's not one of the other, she's both. I think what I really love, is she owns up to what she was and what she's done. She is willing to learn from her mistakes and tries not to repeat the same cycles.

Sam is amazing and so strong because ever since Jason returned from the dead all she's wanted is to have everything she lost back. But instead of thinking of herself & pushing Jason for more than he could give she thought of him and what she could do to make it easier on Jason since he couldn't remember all that they were to each other. She loved him enough for them both that she let go of all that history and moved forward with starting fresh.

Yeah she respected that he was still his own person. And had to first and foremost live for himself and not just for them as a couple. So she let him figure out things on his own and come to his own.

Exactly she was able to accept that he'd changed and give the space that he needed before asking for anything that she wanted. She's been so protective of not forcing their history on him that he couldn't remember at the time. Which made it even sweeter in that moment last week when he was listing everything he could finally recall.

I think even though Jason remembers, they are still different people. She's changed a good deal since they were last together. Her priorities have changed and she has a different kind of adrenaline now than the mob life.

Danny is 100% that main & most important priority for her now. It would be interesting to see how Sam feels now about sharing the responsibility of parenting Danny with Jason. For so long she's been use to being the #1 making decisions but since Jason's fully back in the picture now that changes things. Jason's his father so it's different than it would have been co-parenting with Patrick if they'd stayed together and married.

Sam loves Jason and of course wants him to be a proper father to Danny. But I do think it's going to take them both surprised when she now has to share Danny with Jason. Sam is very independent and she has been Danny's sole parent for a long time now. Sure Patrick came close with being a co-parent. But everything has been on her and I can see her still being in that mindset. I remember when she had just got out the hospital after the house explosion and she kept insisting Danny and her were fine on their own, but Jason wouldn't leave. In the end Sam was very happy, but I think at first she was unsure and probably a bit afraid that it would all vanish after she had wanted it for so long.
