As Sonny’s lover, Sam was in the way of Michael’s happiness, and that is not something Jason is willing to tolerate. And Sam did not react well to Jason's initial attitude towards her. Out of this initial animosity grew trust and companionship, which then grew to friendship and finally to love. It is only fitting that their reconnection will follow this same pattern. Their relationship ended in flames, and all their feelings of love were masked by anger and hatred. It took years, other partners, and a lot of personal growth, but they have moved past that animosity and once again established trust and friendship. I love them together they compliment each other well, but there has been so much history between them and many things that they handled wrong that they need to take time and slowly redeem them.
