Their story:
Jason & Liz saw each other and heard of each other before they met. Liz is best friends with Jason's sister. Liz knew Jason as being Emily's brother. Jason had known Liz as Lucky's girlfriend. They first, saw each other at the nurses ball, 1998. Then, officially introduced themselves at the boxcar. Robin and Jason had broken up, and Lucky had supposedly 'died' and that left them both confused and hurt inside. Robin, was Jason's first love. Lucky was Liz's first love. Jason & Liz have both overcome a life-altering experience. Jason with his accident that turned him from a Quartermaine to a Morgan, and Liz's rape that turned her life upside down. They both had complications with love. Their lives were empty, incomplete. Until August of 2000. When they both had the same idea of the perfect place to go. Jake's. Liz all dressed up. Jason looking for a fight. It wasn't all pleasant at first. They started talking and with every word they could find a piece of themselves from each other. They formed a bond. They created an escape. An escape from reality. They didn't know where they were going. Ride to nowhere. This became a frequent thing. They both loved it. It was a way for them to stop thinking and be FREE. Free from people, free from life, free from love. Jason continued with his job, a loyal but emotionless and dreamless guy and Liz continued with her future, her art. Covering up how she really felt. When Liz saved Jason at the end of 1999, after his best friends and girlfriend betrayed him, ever since then, they had an unbreakable bond. At a point it was more than a friendship for both of them but they hid it. They hid their feelings for one another because it was quite frankly impossible for them to live happily ever after. Jason would rather set Liz free than have her exposed to danger. It would hurt him too much. Liz loved Jason too much to risk building a life with him only to have him killed. People were against it. The timing was always awful. Their life was going in different directions. But the love was still there. It was always there. Whether it was a friendship love, a little bit of love, a connection, a strong bond, a deep care, love but not in love, in love, a strong liking. When Liz was kidnapped in 2002 Jason searched to find her. When he saw Liz with Zander he was crushed. This gave Liz her baby boy, Cam. Now, things would be different. Now, there were priorities. Missed opportunities. Different lovers. Different lifestyles. External forces. All of those led them to be away from each other for 03,04, and 05. But being away from each other, being with other people didn't change their feelings for one another. Liz never got over Jason and he never got over her. 2006 changed everything. Jason saved Liz from Manny. Lucky couldn't get over the fact that it was Jason and not him. Jason was struggling with his relationship with Sam, and Liz struggling with her relationship with Lucky. Something that turned as a parallel. From the beginning of Liz & Jason. Two broken hearts. This time, however it was different. They knew each other. Sam slept with Ric, Jason's enemy, and Lucky slept with Maxie and was unfaithful. Their one night together, their first night together. Wasn't about payback. Wasn't just about broken hearts. It was about each other. About, what they wanted. What they had always hid, their feelings for one another. That night they got to live in the moment. That night was not a regret. It was a calculated, waited for, passionate night. That gave them their little boy, Jake. This wasn't where their love started it was where their love had gotten serious, where they wanted to do better. Be better people. Their love for one another was finally professed. This changed everything. Jason had to give up Jake because of what he did for a living. The decision wasn't a manipulation. It was a tough but reasonable decision given the danger that would surround Jake. They tried being a family but it didn't work. They wanted it to work, but as long as Jason was in the business it was too much for Liz to handle. Jason couldn't stand to see Liz struggle. They broke up in 2008 and this time no contact would be allowed between the two. Lucky raised Liz's children and was with Liz and Jason continued his mob life and reconciled with Sam. 09,10,11 only minimal and contact. 2011, everything changed. Jake disappeared and was assumed “dead”. This was hard for Liz and Jason to grasp. An unbelievable tragedy. Liz's life spiralled out of control and Jason was preparing to spend his life with Sam. Jake being gone left a whole in both Jason & Liz's heart. 2012, things with Lucky were done. Things with Sam were getting complicated. So Jason & Liz found comfort in each other, as they always do. But, jason wanted to work things out with Sam. Liz schemed to not let Jason & Sam get back together because she needed saving. She wanted Jason to fix things. That's what they were to each other. They would save each other and be there for each other when everything fell apart. Liz decieved Jason, but Jason told Liz it just wouldn't work. That they'll always have a connection, but they couldn't be together. Liz took that, and wished Jason well with his family. Shortly after, Jason disappeared, and was presumed “dead”. The next two years, life went on without Jason. In late 2014, Jason was alive, got hit by a car, and had amnesia. He was rushed to the hospital, there was Liz. She instantly felt a strong pull, a connection to this unknown man. When he woke up, Jason didn't know his name. He had no recollection. After hearing Liz talking to him, after seeing her, minutes later he remembered a name. “Elizabeth”. He had remembered her. “Am I the Elizabeth you're talking about”, a memory appeared in Jason's head of 2000. When he had to leave town. Then he remembered Jake. This memory loss, is very similar to Jason's memory loss back in '95 when Jason morphed into a Morgan and his dangerous lifestyle. It seems as though this alternate accident got him out of a dangerous lifestyle. Automatically Liz felt strongly about this unknown man. She didn't know who he was, what his past was, if he had a family, or the fact that he's completely broke and has no identity. She gave him a life. Turns out, this was the same man Liz fell in love with a long time ago. This time, the danger aspect wasn't holding them back. Their chance at happiness was granted.
