I was going to say what was the quote, but I searched the column myself and found the only quote used. I personally don't see Jonathan expressing a sense of entitlement. But rather a statement of truth. Whether or not it's our personal opinion, legions of semi-old school fans share just the thing Jonathan mentioned, a connection with Lucky (as in the role as it stood all those years ago).

Now, I've been thinking over the last few days, and the hugest issue spinning in my head is that I believe once Jonathan starts work and sees just how badly his material will be, not merely in general plot devices, but also dialog, etc., I think he'll jump on Sarah's Brown trademark express ferry out. This leaving GH to grovel at Greg's feet to once again play Lucky.

Short terms roles I believe has more to do with contract issues. The demands Vanessa and Genie would have both in terms of schedule and money doesn't make it conducive or feasible for ABC.

I was just wondering, with Franco, if he is doing this work pro-bono? I can only assume yes, as I can't imagine ABC actually using their limited budget to pay what he'd normally get based on his retainer and, or, screen actor's guild minimum wages.

Yeah, I don't think JJ meant it that way. I know people who've been to his concerts and seen him at other events, and to this day he gets approached a LOT by old GH fans. Like, a LOT. LOL. There ARE a lot of fans who still picture him in that role. The question was seriously leading and he tried not to make it about specifically replacing Greg, but rather simply returning to the role of Lucky in general.

Money is an issue here? Really? GH is filmed in DH, which is expensive. Luke's salary has to be huge. That carnival was so big and cool, I loved it.

I still say do not do it GH, no short term roles for previous characters.

I think in large part why so many people were taken off contract, and so many veterans forced to fade away was in fact based by-in-large on money. Granted Guza will usually give some plat line about said character not fitting in the canvas or with future storyline. But I rather think Fronz and ABC are putting on the pressure to cost cut when they can. That said, Guza has said on more than one occasion that he would take Vanessa whenever she's willing, but it's hard for me to imagine all parties agreeing on long-term terms.

LiRic was awesome. Rick Hearst rocked and the writers totally took him for granted and used/abused his character like no other! Im glad Ricks somewhere else, where they treat him better!

Ive already heard that Gene Francis is coming back. Theres been tons of talk about it and Im pretty sure she's already agreed to it with JJ returning, the only question is for how long and what the story will be..lets not forget the disaster that was last Laura's return, what a crock it was for such a legacy character. Id love for Laura to be back on full time again!!! Spencers front and center again,
