I like the build up to things so I wouldn't want the writers rushing into the M&M love right away. I mean Spin/Maxie have a fan base and I think it would be awfully wrong for the writers to throw them aside all for a character that has been on screen for all of 6mins and only because he made magic with KS on another soap. I think there would be huge backlash for it so to me the direction of Spin/Maxie won't last. They'll have their thing but they seem like a ship that works best as friends and just ruin whatever they have when they try to turn it into something more I honestly don't see any sexual chemistry between the two, but do enjoy their friendship. If the spoilers are true I can see a lot of regret coming out of it, and in the long run they won't work out and the writers will continue to slowly build and then bring together M&M which is fine to me.

Well I certainly didn't see THAT coming. Something tells me though it's going to be the most awkward and strange sex scene ever. And I'm thinking it's NOT gonna make Maxie swoon. Then again, it might do the exact opposite and make her realize she can be attracted to him. That's a big uh oh if that's the case. I think we need to just be patient and see how the summer plays out before getting upset. At this point we should be pro M/M, not anti Spin/Maxie. JMO

Oh I'm not all Anti-Maxie/Spin. I just mentioned that it's a "bad spoiler" for Matt/Maxie fans. The way I see it is now I'm worried that all the Days/Shelle fans who tune in now to watch GH will just tune out if they think the writers are going in the Spin/Maxie way. And a sex scene for Spin/Maxie won't gain any new ex Days/Shelle fans.

Oh no I wasn't insinuating anything about your post, I apologize for that. I do see your point though. The good thing is that Jason's premiere week, whether this is a coincidence or not, showed ratings growth in key demos. They're going to be paying attention to that, especially now when all the shows are in a ratings decline.

Oh, no problem at all.

I think the rise in the demo has a lot to do with Jason Cook because it just so happens that the very same week Dr. Matt Hunter arrives, the ratings rise.

And that is a key younger viewer demo.

I honestly do not think what the writers are doing is smart. Having Spin/Maxie have sex like a week or two after Jason/Matt's arrival? Right when they are trying to get more ex Days/Classic Shelle/JC fans to watch GH? It makes no sense. I know a ton of Days who are switching to GH just for JC/KS. But they are not invested in GH. So I can see them tuning out after watching all the promos for Spin/Maxie and then having to see Spin/Maxie having sex.

It does sound to me that it's a classic case of comfort sex between Spixie as well. The problem GH is running into is the timing of it all. The Spixie fans have been waiting for months for something. And now you have the influx of the old Classic Shelle fans coming over because of Jason. It was just a matter of poor timing if anything I think. What we don't know yet is if this will be the beginning of the end for Spin/Maxie. The peak if you will. Comfort sex followed by Maxie freaking out even more. That could possibly send her running for Matt as well. There are so many variables that could happen at this point.

if it's just a short term thing. The media is promoting it as the big summer storyline though for the younger GH set, which is a little offputting. But then again, Soapnet was constantly airing ads for Jason's first airdate, so that also has to be taken into account.

Speaking of Jason, he's on the 2008 Adonis finalists poll. I was really surprised considering up until last week, he'd been out of daytime for 2 years. So someone is obviously paying attention.
