Thank you. I've overwhelmed with JnJ feels.

First, they don't make supercouples like they used to. Any soap I start watching I always find myself in the 90s and not wanting to move on.

On 1989 - Jack's feelings for Jennifer ran deep from the beginning. I think even before she knew what he truly meant to her. When she gets hurt reporting, and Jack runs to get to her. His concern for her even takes Steve by surprise. Then he pretends to be "Mr Horton" so he could see her.




When Jack sets up them playing house and being fake married. It felt like his way of being close to her until....the social worker brings up his charges. It explains so much of the Jack/Jennifer/Emilo triangle and why he's constantly pulling back.

I love them working together. The build up is so great. They have such amazing chemistry.





My favorite thing about 89 is Jack showing up at Jennifer's apartment and her bursting into his office.

Also Jack trying to help Kayla/Steve and his budding friendship with Isabelle is such a huge part of his redemption. The story was written so well. When fans spoke about it. I didn't believe it could work but it did. The writing and the chemistry. I wonder how far they planned to take JnJ when they first put them in each other's orbit.

According to J&J lore, the only reason they were in each other's orbits was because Billy Hufsey (Emilio) left the show briefly to film something. He was Jennifer's love interest at the time and he was coming back. They needed something for her to do. And Jack was kind of in no man's land. He was still a bit of a scoundrel. He screwed over Melissa (Jennifer's cousin). He was grappling with the fact that he was Steve's brother but reconciliation was still far off. He was just getting into running a newspaper. Sometimes he was in it for yellow journalism and sometimes he actually cared about the truth.

So they gave Jennifer an internship at the newspaper with Jack as her boss and a story to track down. But Matt was a bit of an improviser and encouraged Melissa to be more experimental/playful and their vibe became really popular. By the time Emilio came back, the audience was like "Nope, we'll take more of J/J please.)

And since, back then, they didn't film 6 months in advance, they stayed in each other's orbits even when Emilio came back.

Pretty sure in wasn't until the mid 2000's that Days started the 6 month ahead filming.
