According to SOD Olga Sosnovska has decided to leave ALL MY CHILDREN. The reason? She was cast in a BBC series that films in London, therefore she is also leaving the United States.

Olga will be discussing all of this in the next issue of SOD and she stresses that this was her sole decision and that AMC did not initiate this exit in ANY way. She will also be addressing all the Bianca & Lena fans in her message in SOD.

There is no word on her last airdate or the name of the BBC sereis she has joined.

Olga Sosnovska has decided to exit her groundbreaking role on All My Children, TV Guide Online has learned. The actress, who joined the cast as Lena Kundera in December 2002, is returning home to London, where she'll star in MI5, a series about the United Kingdom's defensive security intelligence agency. "As difficult a decision as it has been, I felt compelled to take this great opportunity," she says in a statement. Sosnovska stresses that she's leaving the show on her own accord. "ABC and All My Children have been incredibly supportive and in no way was it their decision or intent to have me leave."

AMC's Lena earned a legion of fans when she fell for openly gay Bianca Montgomery, establishing the popular 'Lianca' pairing. In April 2003, Sosnovska and Bianca's portrayer, Emmy nominee Eden Riegel, shared daytime's first lesbian kiss. Sources close to the show say that Lena will be on the canvas for several more months, and that AMC is cooking up a dramatic departure for the character. "I'm so excited for her, but I'm going to miss her like crazy," says Riegel of her co-star's departure. "I have so much love and respect for her as a person and as an actress. She's the epitome of grace. And of course, Lena is going to be missed by Bianca, to say the least. It was a lovely little love affair they had going."

Honestly? Ever since I found out about Olga auditioning back in January, I was expecting this. MI5 is hugely popular in the UK, it's like the British version of our Alias here.

I'm happy that Olga is getting such a great opportunity. I DO feel bad for the Lianca fans though. Even though I BAM, I can only imagine how they're feeling right now [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img]

Yeah, I heard about this. Although I think Lena is so much better for Bianca, I guess this thing with Maggie and Bianca may happen then. [img]smilies/rolleyes.gif[/img]

I'm not so sure, although I'd like to believe nothing more. This might just give AMC the loophole they've probably been looking for, and get out of the whole storyline completely [img]smilies/rolleyes.gif[/img]
